  1. ClubLexus does not allow any kind of ebay links because they fear it will start a bidding war among members. Fine concept, but sometimes if you want to show others something funny you found on ebay, or something unusual, there is no way, unless you provide the ebay auction number and have the members search for it. I can definately understand not wanting any links to personal auctions, that should be a generally understood no-no in any public forum.
  2. To be fair, here is Ethan's (Static911) response to someone who brought up the fact that there already is a Lexus Owner's Club:
  3. Comments about how CL is.....aahhh, you almost made me say it mannn! :P
  4. Given to Frankie Muniz by MGM studios. I wish I could be given a Lotus V8 TT at age 16! I hope this site allows ebay links, unlike umm.....others!
  5. must.......refrain........from comment
  6. Spelling and grammar is irrelevent, your technical knowledge is priceless! Nice to see you on this board. B)
  7. I've been using slow 56K dial-up here at home all weekend. I can check at school tommorow if high-speed access solves anything.
  8. 1. Sometimes when I post, my post does not appear until several hours afterwards. 2. Often I get an error message when I try and post. As far as I know, I'm not doing anything wrong. Then when I go abck and type the post over again, a double post results. 3. Some posts on threads appear to be missing. I just checked a thread in the ES300 forum, and the entire third page was not there. Overall, I'm really enjoying this site. I know with all sites, especially new ones, glitches are common and should be expected. I just thought I'd let you all know what I observed. Plus, a big thanks to the administration and people running this site for providing this wonderful resource for Lexus enthusiasts.

    aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Go Lexus OC! B)
  10. Hmmm....so this is how Zeta boosts his number of posts. lol, just kidding buddy! :P
  11. Nice to see you also! I'm enjoying things here on this board, trying to contribute wherever I can.
  12. My ES now belongs to my mum. I still drive it once in a while though. She only puts like 3-4K miles/year on it, so the car should be in the family for quite some time. In fact, I drove it all of last week because the weather was bad, so I did not want to drive my RWD daily driver, and my Audi was at the shop getting some maintenance done. My old, ES, for all those interested, was a '93 Diamond White Pearl/Ivory leather with all the options available that year, except the car phone, plus it has chrome factory wheels and gold trim. It's been in our family for almost 10 years (my mom actually had it before she gave it to me, lol) and as of right now has 75K miles. It has cracked leather, has been in a couple accidents (not really major), and as of last week, oil was leaking onto the garage floor. The gaskets have already been replaced twice, I hope they are not the culprit again. I haven't had a chance to put the car on a ramp and look. Other than that, it drives fantastic.
  13. I'd like to see what kinds of ES300s you all drive. Any elusive 5-speed '92-'93 models? Me? I do not have an ES300..... :P
  14. Hi Nabeel! Welcome to the club matey! Grab a beer and tell us about yourself / your car (OK - so zeta and SWO3ES know you - but a lot of us don't! :P ) Hmmm...I just wrote an intro, but seem to have lost it somehow, probably pushed a wrong button or something. Anyway, I don't drive an ES300 anymore. I used to drive a white/tan '93 ES300 until about 2 months ago, when I gave the car to my mom. It's an interesting story. The car has been in the family for almost 10 years, and when I was 16, my mom 'gave' me the car. She regretted that decision, because she liked the car so much. After driving the ES300 for 2 years, I gave it back to her. She couldn't be happier about getting the car back, and in the meantime I bought an old Audi for myself. Yeah, I'm a traitor :P Nice meeting all of you here, and I'll be looking forward to contribute in any way I can.
  15. Good Gawd.....I visit this site after seeing Zeta's post on Cl, and all I gotta say is...wow! This forum looks very promising, and it is definately a good alternative to CL....seems like not nearly as much internal politics here, which I'm getting sick of over at CL. So, Zeta and I joined this forum on the same day but he has 70+ posts while I have 9? Looks like I have some catching up to do! :P Nice to some other CL people like steviej and my favorite ex-member, SW03ES, haha! :P
  16. Hi SW03ES. Nice to see you around here. Now if we just get steviej, mcelligott, xenones3, mezoom!, Kyle Harty, and the rest of the CL regulars over here......hehe, then things could get quite interesting. :) To the best of my understanding, the thread that got you banned from CL was when EastCoastES (ugh!) posted some pics by accident, then took them down after you commented, in an effort to make you look stupid. You responded saying that if anyone made you look stupid, you would make them look stupider, and then one of the mods (I think Daddy-O) cited some rule against incitement and banned you in that very thread. I dunno what went down privately between you, Ethan, and the mods, so I'm not gonna comment on that. So far, I've had good experiences with the administration/moderators over there, and I feel they have been respectful and tolerant- at least with me. But I will admit that I was very surprised when I learned you had been banned, because I never noticed you stepping out of bounds in any of your posts. Steve, I am interested in helping out wherever I can, but I will admit that I don't have a lot of time between going to college and working. But if I can help out anywhere, I would be glad to.
  17. So you want to have the fogslights on all the time, even in broad daylight? That would look tacky imo...... Or are you trying to wire it so that you can use the foglights without turning the headlights on? I think amrit50 over at CL did that. Ask him.
  18. Nah, not that impressive. Lexus was a hand-me-down, while I'm paying for the other two, which were not all that expensive. I'm a college student so expensive cars are out of the question. Most college students work hard to pay their rent and bills.....while I stay home (parents live in Lex) and work hard to pay for cars. Misplaced priorities? 8) I can see myself 30 years from now.....old dude living in a little 1br apartment with keys to 10 different cars in my pocket. :)

Aw man, I missed a Lexington meet? That sucks. I hope y'all had fun. I'm a UK student and also have been living in Lex for 13 years. Oh well, maybe next time. 8)
  20. Installed Dunlop SP5000s on my car about 2 weeks ago. So far I'm very impressed. They have lots of grip, improved my turn-in response, and are quiet.
  21. I'm opposed to the war. I think it will just further inflame tensions in an already volatile region and send our economy even further down the drain. Not to mention the potentially large loss of civilian life it the cowards in Hussein's army decide to play hide-and-seek in the streets of Bagdad. I hate Hussein, but I think he can be kept in check by us without resorting to war.
  22. Have a '93 ES300, as well as a '96 Audi A6 Quattro and an old Porsche 944. Each one is different, but I love 'em all.
