  1. ...ahh.... I don't think i lubed anything... I just removed the brake pads and installed new ones in.. :o
  2. as you already probably know that its difficult or maybe impossible to replace the radio because of the built in ac controls connected to it. But you can replace the factory door speakers and add a sub using your factory Nakamichi radio. Nakamichi is a good brand(in my opinion). If you replace your speakers and add a sub, make sure you also replace you OEM sub located underneath the front passenger seat.
  3. I replaced my brake pads finally after 80K+ miles(still 40% left on all four)but everytime I step on my brakes it squeaks on the newly installed brake pads.(very annoying) Maybe its just all the dirt and dust but after cleaning it(spraying water, and also bought some brake disc cleaner....)it still squeaks. I also checked my rotors and all are still good.... any idea why its squeaking? Hey TunedRX300, where did you get your brembo brake kit? I want to install it on mine? thanks
  4. Check out JAOS.COM, they make tons of parts for RX300 and 330 exhaust, flaps, brush guards full or just the center bars, skid plates for the front and even a roof rack. ;) click on link RX Accessories
  5. Same here, all I see around here are Silversports. L.A. County.(maybe im unable to tell the difference between models... duh.. :whistles: )
  6. Yes, OEM screen still works. I did a mickey mouse job by moving it and !Removed! it in my glove compartment. My orginal plan was to buy a 3 inch screen and have it display all the OEM display, but no adapter fits with the factory cable.(did that make any sense)So now I have the OEM screen temporarily screwed in my glove compartment. OEM Screen I know it looks very "cheezy" but remember, Iam an amateur... :D As far as the other equipment I installed the following: 1: Multi A/V controller = this equipment allows you to switch from either listening to the radio/cd, watch TV, watch DVDs or watch tv/dvd while listening to the radio. Here is a picture from the internet: A/V Controller It also comes with a Remote Eye and Remote Controller for switching from video to audio. You simply install the A/V controller anywhere in the car and wire the Remote Eye somewhere in the front where you can point your Remote controller to switch. I installed my Remote Eye sensor underneath the center console. Remote Eye Sensor 2: As far as the DVD system. I just bought a cheap "Blaupunkt" DVD player and installed it underneath the front passenger seat. DVD Player My DVD player is connected to the Multi A/V controller. The two rear monitors are 6.5 Alpine screens and the front is another 6.5 screen. (not alpine...inexpensive stand alone) Criticism is welcome :D
  7. I used Headlight Resurfacer and Protector from http://66.241.223.236/merchant2/merchant.m...gory_Code=Other It's a 2 step process with optional third step. It did a good job on all but the deepest stone chips. There's enough stuff for several cleanings. I've done business with these guys over the last two years and they are reliable. Follow the instuctions carefully. ← Thanks for the product recommendation, I'll do a little research before i purchase :D
  8. Do you guys have any pictures? Please show us. ← If you like the rugged look, I suggest getting some JAOS mud guards.(im actually a poser, only been offroading twice :P ) click here Flaps
  9. I'm positively sure. I just had mine flushed about a month ago and the fluid looks like new, pinkish in color. I did some pretty extensive research on this matter and found that the only way to completely change the transmission fluid is to have it flushed. Not only does this completely replace the existing fluid, but also cleans the wire mesh filter inside the transmission. Make sure you replace the fluid with the right type of fluid which is clearly marked at the top of the dipstick. You should also have your differential and transfer case gear oil drained and replaced every 30k mi. The reason your transmission fluid looks dark is because you've just been having a portion of the fluid drained out and new fluid added. The new fluid just mixes in with the dirty fluid, so your fluid just keeps getting dirtier and dirtier. Any qualified mechanic will tell you that the drain and fill performed by Lexus and Toyota is useless and a waste of money. I take my cars to a place called Mostly Toyotas and they say that they haven't had any problems with the cars they have flushed. They 100%, absolutely recommend flushing the transmission every 30kmi. ← Iam one of these idiots that know nothing about engines(electronics guy), well a little bit. I went to one of these transmission places and replaced it there(9k+ miles ago). I don't know if they used the "toyota IV fluid" that you guys recommended, will this cause any problems in the long run.... or all transmission all the same? Should I get it redone? Thanks
  10. You have to unscrew the rear break light panels . The screws are located on the side of the break light.(Pop open the trunk)
  11. I don't think you can replace it because of the computer thats connected to the radio. The ac controls are all connected with the radio, but if you do find a way to replace it let me know. What I did with mine is just work with what the truck came with. Im using the OEM Nakamichi's and moved the factory radio screen eslewhere and replaced with another screen for viewing dvds. I also installed two rear monitors on my headrest, replaced the four door speakers, added two amps and a 10 inch sub. All is working great. Rear Front
  12. ← Interesting...what did you do with your subwoofer? I am tempting to give it a shot, because there is no good place to mount a sub in the "trunk"....Silly thought... Possible to rip out the original 4 inch and put in a bigger 4 inch? ← If you do try to replace your OEM sub, make sure you also change the OEM amp underneath the passenger seat. If you don't, the factory amp may not be able to power your subwoofers. I replaced all my door speakers and added a 10inch sub in the trunk. Unfortunately, you cannot replace the OEM radio because AC controls are all connected to the back of the radio. You can always work around with what you have. The Nakamichi stock is not bad, not bad at all. Front Rear
  13. I tried mothers plastic cleaner to clean my headlights but it did not work. The plastic is still stained with dirt, what else could I use to clean it? thanks
  14. I don't think so either. The ac controls/radio and everything else is built on the radio unit itself, but you can replace the factory monitor. click on link to view pic Front Console Rear Console Side View MISC
  15. My original plan was to replace the original radio screen with a smaller screen(size of a driver license) and install it some where on the dash, but i could not find an adapter. I just bought a 6.4 screen and placed it on the middle console to watch dvd/tv and moved the original radio screen in the glove.
  16. you can take the black piece off that's holding the radio screen. I took mine off when i replaced the radio screen with an after market screen!
  17. bolt pattern is 114.3/5 and the offset is +24(you can either go higher or lower depending on how much "lip" you want on your rims) They also may ask for the backspace measurements!
  18. When I had 30 series tires, my tire pressure was around 38-40. As tires heat up, tire pressure expands so you do NOT want too much air in your tires. Anything lower than 35, you have a chance of denting your wheels when hitting potholes and bumps
  19. i don't think you can remove the radio because there is a computer on the back of it which controls the AC/HEAT. What are you planning to do? Replace it with an aftermarket radio?
  20. Iam tired of riding on my fullsize spares, I want to buy new black rims(jaos, veilside...anything in black 3pc really)but I do not know the backspace measurements for the RX300? I want to go with the same size 16x7 and use the same tires to save a little money. Any advise on the offset and backspace measurements? what exhaust systems are available for the RX?
