  1. wow, those clear lights in the pic are exactly the ones i've been trying to find. I've been playing with the notion of modding the lights because i couldn't find those...

No idea where to find those custom lights? they look like they're made of glass, not plastic. hmmm...

and Insomniac, thanks for all that info, i'll def try it out and post a pic guide on how to do it.

some questions though, what happens if the black weather sealant gets on the headlights while doing this?

would you suggest heating the lights in an oven as the proper method, or a heat gun?

And so to continue the thread, HAS ANYONE SEEN THE LIGHTS POSTED ABOVE AND HOW TO: A) MOD EXISTING LIGHTS TO LOOK LIKE THAT or B) KNOW OF A MANUFACTURER THAT SELLS LIGHTS LIKE THIS or C) JUST KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE LIGHTS

    ps, i love the forums...

  2. the jdm lights are a step up from the USDM ones because they don't have the amber on the outside, they're understated. i'll go with these if i can't find clears, but i know people have done it before! i've looked around cardomain and people have customized those lights and made them all clear!

i want to know how they've done it, its driving me crazy...

speaking of which, on a side note, if anyone wants to trade my USDM for your JDM headlights, i'm fair game.

  3. no those are the JDM headlights, the ones that come with the aristo. Those were the ones i was going to get but i found out the amber inside the headlights is not limited to the bulb, but is actually a cone inside the headlight. but again, if someone knows how to safely get rid of the amber inside, i'll get the JDM (even though they're expensive) and do that.

for the record, i hate amber in my headlights if that wasn't already apparent...

i have the USDM ones, which have the amber as a large piece that can be seen on the outside face of it. ill post a picture soon.

  4. lol, man here,

Well my original intent for this thread was to see if someone could post a guide on how to mod the light, even though modding it is the last thing i want to do. I've tried finding aftermarket lights for the 1st gen gs but all aftermarket manufacturers and ebay seem to think it doesn't exist and everything starts with the mk2 Gs...:(

Posts on this site have alluded to a UK set of lights for the GS, but i have yet to see a picture or a link. Other posts have indicated that Kazz sports had clears, but i went there and even emailed them and they don't have them either...

Everything seems to need to be custom made for this car, and while i find myself rather handy and quick to learn, i don't believe i'm anywhere near skilled enough to do all the things i want to do with this car...

  5. :cries: I've been looking now for nearly 3 weeks nonstop for clear cornered headlights for the 1st gen gs300 or at the very least, a detailed mod on how to get rid of the amber insert in the headlight corner. I've scoured these forums and many others for many different types of cars just to get an idea for how to do the mod or find someone that produces the headlight completely clear. I HAVE FOUND NOTHING!!! people mention that "they've seen this" or "its easy, just search" but i've looked at thousands of posts and hundreds of websites and have found no links.

The closest i've found for clear headlights are the JDM option for the JZS147 chassis which still has an amber interior, not just the bulb as i previously thought. As to mods, I've found es300 guides to taking out the amber insert, but i wanted to know if it was the same or similar for the gs300 (because i have learned the hard way that many things between different lexus' are not interchangable or even similar). :chairshot:

Has anyone done this and done it properly?

Does anyone have a definitive link to a site that can show how to properly do the mod?

HAS ANYONE FOUND ANY MANUFACTURER THAT MAKES HEADLIGHTS (aftermarket) FOR THE FIRST GEN GS!? the sticky for body kits says there is one but the picture isn't viewable and there is no link!

This is my first lexus and i don't want to take my headlight apart and in the process mess it up completely.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! i'm frustrated due to the amount of time i've wasted on the computer looking that i could use on my car fixing/modding...

  6. just to clarify, i'm plannin on getting 19s staggered (19x8.5) (19x9.5) on my Gs so would this tire setup above

    245/35ZR19's in front

    275/30ZR19's in the rear.

be the proper setup for 19s? i'm also going to use eibach prokit springs and drop 1.2 front and back

i'm trying to lose as little ride quality as possible so would it be advisable to still use this tire size/sidewall size? would bumping it to 245/40 and 275/35 be a good idea or would rubbing occur?

  7. i have looked everywhere! can anyone tell me how to mod USDM mki gs300 headlights to clears or where to get jdm headlights or these fabled uk projectors?

in the body kit sticky it says that kazz sports makes projector lights for the 93 97 gs3's but i can't find them!

any links, clues, or vague finger pointing in the right direction would be great!

  8. hello all,

i hail from jersey, just bought a 95 gs300 touring edition. I love the look of this thing. there are a whole bunch of little problems with it like front/back option on seats isnt working but all the rest are... the factory head unit is security locked and i can't get it to open cause i don't have the blasted password... hood and trunk lifts need replacing...

but aside from the first two annoying ones, everything else is managable and fine.

  9. Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone here can help me. I just recently bought a 95 GS300 touring edition and i've been fixing the little problems with it, but one problem i've had is that the forward/back option on driver side isn't working and the passenger seat moves forward and back on only one track. All the other options work for both chairs, so does that mean the motor is blown on the driver side one? I've searched the forums, but couldn't find any info on this.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? Anyone know how to fix it/how much it would cost to get fixed at Lexus or elsewhere?

    Thanks alot, much appreciated.

    Rob
