  1. I have the same problem. It's getting replaced today. If you put light pressure on the top portion of the mirrow while pressing up arrow control, the mirror will begin to move again. Once you get the mirror in place, turn off the reverse tilt so the mirror remains in one position. THen take it in for repairs. wade
  2. Going to the dealer tomorrow morning to remedy another problem (rearview mirrors no longer pan down in reverse). I'll ask them to check out the finish on the rims and see if the warranty will cover it. Will let you all know how it turns out. Okay guys - finally presented this rim problem to the dealer. At first the service tech said there's no way for brake dust to embed in the finish. He went and got some sort of Lexus super polish and started rubbing on the area. He concluded that it wasn't a brake dust stain, but an erosion of the actual finish. The more he rubbed, the more black area appeared as he was wiping away the actual finish. He thought I must have used some sort of corrosive cleaner that had etched away the finish and was exposing the black underneath. But then he went and got another guy that concluded that if that were the case, the problem would be all over the wheels, not just on the edges. His theory was that it must be a combination of brake dust, something corrosive, water, heat, etc... He suggested that Lexus should replace the rims with new ones - or at least some rims of another new car that had upgraded to chrome. Then a third guy showed up to take pictures for documentation, which have to be submitted to some sort of regional manager type guy. I'm not sure what will happen there. They finally sent me on my way telling me that they'd have to order the new rims regardless of what they decided with the warranty. He's supposed to call me when the new rims arrive. Hopefully, they'll just call it a defective finish and replace them at no charge. Stay tuned... Hi Jason, I just purchased a 2007 gs350 with the same rims from Orlando. my car only has 200 miles on it and i am changing the wheels and tires. If you are interested I could sell you my stock wheels and tires for a good price. 18 inch rims with 245/40/18 michelin tires. Let me know... Thanks

  4. I'll check disks tonight, but I was referring to the XM radio songs as they play. sorry for not being clear the first time. Wade
  5. There is also documentation at the homelink site for your specific car
  6. When set to audio, the text only displays the first eight or ten characters of the artist and song. Do you folks see the same thing or do you see the entire artist and name? Thanks, Wade
  7. I'd like to know what version the 2007 GS430 has in its NAV system. My 2006 does not have some of the local roads in my area an I was wondering if there was an update that I could get.
  8. I have an 06 GS430 and the mirrors DO pan down in reverse. I'm not sure, but it may be an option. On the other hand, my drivers side mirror will not move up or down with the adjustment controls. Only move left to right. I'm taking it in for repairs next week.
  9. I have a well cared for 06 as well and I have the same problem. I'll contact the dealer in Orlando, FL to see if they'll repair or replace the rims. let me know if you have any luck.
  10. I just purchased a used GS430 from a friend. It was well maintained and always clean. I must say though, it doesn't smell like a normal new car. It has 11K miles and he never smoked in the car. It's hard to describe, but the smell is new to me. It's not an overbearing smell, but it is far from pleasant. No it doesn't smell like a dead animal or stinky gym socks. Do any of you 430 owners feel that you car smells different than other new cars? thanks
  11. On the Lexus Site for owners, they have a .pdf fle for identifying the settings that you can personalize. The small print does "the customized features must be programmed by your Lexus dealer". Below is the link to the .pdf ... You have to register, but it's quick and easy. Lexus Personalized Settings If you do have them change the settings, let us know how it went. wade
