  1. UPDATE: Dealer performed the full rebuild as per the TSB. While working on it they called me offered to change the waterpump (source of ticking), fan belt and spark plugs. Since the engine would be open already they only charged for parts. So total invoice was 380$. I'm good for another 7 years Thanks again guys ...
  2. I recently started getting this sound from my 2007 is250 AWD. (See YouTube link) My cousin is a mechanic and he said he thinks that it might be the timing chain alignment and that it would be a $$$$ repair. I currently have 75000 miles and no longer have warranty coverage. My extended Lexus Platinum Warranty expired last year I had 7/years 75000mile coverage but while it was under warranty I went to Lexus because I was getting low engine oil warnings often and Lexus had me go back every 600 miles or so to check they oil level and they said it was consuming normal amounts of oil. Fast forward almost a year later and I have this issue. My cousin thinks it could be directly related to the low engine oil level. Any advice or input would really help. Especially if it was overlooked by them. Video:
  3. stealth IS350 what TSB are you referring I had all the TSBs done and still have this exact symptom and think its coming from the center console also. To my knowledge there is no Center Console Bezel Noise TSB.
  4. Lexus tech told me you have to physically replace the whole odometer unit. Whatever its called.
  5. I think the popping thread is related to the center console also ... I've been able to recreate this by just pushing on the bezel at times and hearing the pop. I wish LExus would get their heads out of their A55 and release a TSB so the dealers aren't running around trying anything. So far i've had the rattle tsb done twice, my amp swapped out because they said it was shorting and my the windshield molding replaced all with no luck at all.
  6. After driving with a tech for 30min ... he heard the popping and flipped how loud it was and it wasn't even the loudest I've heard, The dealer said they called Lexus and they said to removed my windshield and changed the molding which they did. Popping is still there....ARGHAGAHAH. I think its coming from the center console because when i push it and move it i hear the popping. As per another post in here someone mentioned it could also be something in the glove box. Guess I'm SOL.
  7. sorry double post
  8. Dealer swapped out my amp saying it was shorting ... I told them i didnt think so because it would make the sound even with the radio off, so there technically should not be any power going to the amp, but i humored them and sure enough i was right ... popping is still there. I think i'll have them try the windshield TSB as a last resort. If it still happens after that i'll turn up the music and then sue lexus for bleeding ear-drums.
  9. Really have you seen them on the car ... i saw some pics and find they look sweet on a silver IS
  10. Update: Went back ... they said the popping in the dash is the amp shorting out (i'm not convinced) and they will swap out the amp. I'll keep you guys updated. Later
  11. Any one know where I can get these in the Florida/Fort Lauderdale area? Thanks Chrome Pillars
  12. I'm still waiting for a fix ... Should I write to lexus ... you guys think it will help?
  13. Brought my IS250 in for a few TSBs and for the popping sounds HRCS32a had it right. They told me they know about this and the would removed the dash and insulate. Note this takes a while so they can't do it same day. Popping is still there after 2 visits... This is getting so frustrating!!!
  14. Anyone ever get this fixed? I've been to the dealer twice with no luck. On my '06, it was the dash, and I did the felt thing, and it worked. I've never had the windshield issue. I got the felt thing done twice and still get sporadic popping at least once or twice per drive (30 min) and sometime it scares the living !Removed! out of me because of how loud it is. I am so close to selling the car cause of it. Its so annoying on a car thats supposed to be the persuit of perfection. anyone get this fixed yet?
