    There is nothing the dealer can do that an independent shop can't. If it's a competent shop there is no reason not to have the work done there. You can also have a Toyota dealer do the work for generally considerably less than Lexus, but that still may be more than your independent shop.

    I take it you do not have the owner’s manual. Normal maintenance intervals for your car are: Air cleaner is every 30k Cabin air filter is every 7.5k Oil is SAE 5W-30 W/O filter - 5.4 qt W/ filter – 5.7 qt

    I would contact FCSR http://www.carstereohelp.com/ I did business with them a few years back on another Lexus and the owner is an honest guy.

    Reminds me of the old Fram commercials, “You can pay me now or pay me later”. The 2JZ-GE is an interference engine. You lunch that belt and $625.00 will look like a wet dream to get out of that mistake.
