  1. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've felt cold air through the seatback.
  2. If you're talking about the last phone number in the lower right-hand spot, it's the last number dialed and always shows up in there. I think they've reserved that spot for re-dial and you can't delete it.
  3. Not responsible for your safe use?? Since we know research isn't your thing, I'm sure you haven't checked into how often your typical auto manufacturer gets sued because some clown kills or serioulsy injures themselves while doing something they shouldn't have been doing in a car. Lexus isn't going to get sued (not successfully, anyway) if you kill yourself driving 100+ MPH, but let some dumba$$ get in a wreck while he's fooling around with the Nav system (yeah, that system he says is only going to be programmed by his passenger) and the next thing you know they're in court paying out the !Removed! for somebody else's stupidity. Your Garmin that you keep mentioning is self-installed, so you're gonna have a hard time suing anybody when you hurt yourself while "your passenger" is using it. I guarantee you that if YOU volunteer to personally take on financial responsibility for all navigation system related lawsuits they'll change that "critical" feature for you in a heartbeat. [sound of crickets chirping] Yeah, that's what I thought. THAT'S the bottom line, and if you could see further than the end of your nose you'd understand that. Oh, and if you CHOOSE to pull your car off the road into an unsafe area to program your system, that's your fault too. And do you really ONLY figure out you need directions to get where you're going AFTER the car is in motion? You don't like my tone, I don't like your constant whining. There's no reason Lexus should only get YOUR opinon, I think I'll write them a letter myself.
  4. Is the sun behind you when you notice the line? I haven't noticed it in the car, but I get the same type of thing on the LCD screen of my digital camera when shooting into the sun.
  5. I disagree. I think it's self-centered attitudes like YOURS that hurt everyone. All this drama because you have to pull over to program the navigation system??? I bet you're that same jerkoff that runs a red light and cuts me off because he's in such a hurry to get everywhere. This is my THIRD vehicle with a Nav system and they have ALL had lockouts while driving. And somehow I've managed to use it without my head exploding. Rather than starting a riot, maybe you should start your own car company since you know more about satisfying customers than the largest car manufacturer on the planet. I'm going to go to your blog and pee on it. If this feature is critical to your satisfaction and you managed to get through the entire process of purchasing a car without even checking to make sure it worked to your liking, that's YOUR fault, not Lexus'. Period. The fact that they gave you some cash hoping to shut you up is irrelevant. But this is, of course, just my opinion. :whistles:
  6. I put info into the address book manually and it works.
  7. I put twentys on mine with no issues whatsoever.
  8. Before I traded in my G35, I had two Infinitis, both with Navigation, neither of which can be programmed for anything but the first 6 entries in your address book while driving. It ain't just Lexus. Is it at all possible that the guys and gals who actually build cars for a living might actually know what they're doing? I know a lot of people who complain that they can't watch a DVD in the front while driving. I know people who type messages on their Blackberry while driving. Just because somebody WANTS to do something doesn't mean they're right, customer or not. In the couple weeks I've had this car, I've drifted onto the lane markers more than once fooling around with the touchscreen while driving, even in its "crippled" state. Somebody in the passenger seat is no guarantee the driver isn't going to be programming the system - or distracted by the passenger doing it. Is it really that big a deal to pull over for a second and program the thing? What's it like two minutes? Sheesh. What's the freakin' rush, America?
  9. Thanks. I bought them from a small local shop, I like the look of them but they're really nothing special. I think the brand is YFUN or something like that. There were a LOT more expensive wheels in there. The shop was really cool about it, I had originally picked out a different style and when the tech put the first one on the car I didn't really like it. So they let me try out 3 different styles (mounted tires on them and everything) before I picked those. With the tires it was $1600 which I thought was a pretty good for some 20" wheels - when I left the house I was thinking there was no way I was coming home spending less than $2500. And I'd agree the best place to check your NAV position is at any intersection.
  10. Ok, so I just called another dealer (my NEW dealership) and the guy said his service technician had just fixed this issue on another car. Taking it in tomorrow.
  11. There is a TSB for your exact problem which your dealer should be aware of. In fact, my Lexus dealer ordered for me an updated DVD disc to correct this problem. They called me when they received this new disc. I drove into service, and within 5 minutes everything was corrected. Naturally, there was NO charge for this service. :) Ok, so I just called my dealer and told him I thought there was a TSB for this and asked him if he could check. His reponse was it would take him a little while to check, he'd like me to bring the car in so they can check it out, and they don't put much stock in anything I might have heard on the internet. Sheesh. How hard is it to check for TSBs? Thanks, BTW.
  12. Hmmm...how are your POI icons? The vehicle position isn't off far enough to bother me, but the addresses being that far off make the system kind of useless. Well, maybe not useless, but not what it ought to be. The car came with the 10-spoke Ultra wheels (that the dealer had chromed) that are now stacked up in a corner of my garage. I bought those wheels (20") last weekend.
  13. Yeah, you might want to put a temporary alert on your credit report through Equifax.
  14. She's not back until the end of May so she doesn't know yet, so keep it on the DL. :D The location marker seems like it's consistently off a hundred feet or so. I always get to an intersection before it show's me arriving. But the POI icons are waaaay off, like most times in the completely wrong block and often on the wrong side of the street. When I got the car it was set up for the east coast before I changed the region setting. Wonder if that has anything to do with it. Oh, and here's another question - anybody know how you record a CD-R so that it displays Track/Album/Artist info in the car? I burned two CDs last night (using Media Player 11), one as an mp3 and another as wma and neither displayed track info in the car.
  15. I'm struggling a bit with the ML system. My issue is that it doesn't appear that the crossovers are set up properly on the system. If I put the bass at anywhere more than one-click to the right of flat and turn the volume up, the front speakers sound like they're going to explode. You shouldn't have to fade the sound to the rear for the system to compensate for bass getting to speakers where it doesn't belong, and i shouldn't be limited in the amount I turn up the bass in a system that is properly set up. We have an '03 FX35 with the Bose system and it takes a lot less tweaking to get good sound out of it, even when I'm listening to jazz and I've got the bass perfectly flat. I've never had any of those speakers complain about anything I put into them. My 2 cents.
  16. Hey all, New to the site and new to Lexus (26th vehicle in my lifetime)(hey, I like cars... :D ). Just bought an '07 ES350 Ultra for my wife as a Welcome Home present after her year in Baghdad: Love the car. Only issue I have with it is the Nav database appears to be pretty crappy. Although the car seems to track perfectly on the map, all of the addresses and POI icons are like a quarter-mile off. The address it shows for our house isn't even close. Anybody else experience this?
