  2. Well, i cleared my corners... Sadly when i tried to take apart my tail lights i cracked the back left. :cries: I quickly stopped and put it back together. Failure, ugh.

  5. Nobodys ever taken out the red filters out of the tail lights? Would i be stupid for trying this?
  6. So i have a 93 with the euro style tailights. Im thinking about stuffing them in the oven at 200 and pulling them apart to Take Out the red and amber filters to kind of give it a newer look. I also wanna clean em out. Has anyone ever done this before? And if you have do you have any pictures or recomendations?
  7. Me and my friend did this to his Tiburon last night, and we were able to remove the amber filter and then sand off the crome paint. Then we spray painted his corners and bezels a bunch. Back in the oven it went and then back on his car. The end result looked extremely professional. This job is so easy, just takes a few hours. Im thinking about doing it to my tail lights, they have condensation in there, and i really wanna clear it up.
  8. Im getting green neon tubes from Optx by Streetglow for my 93 es300. Is this a bad idea, and will it be hard to accomplish?
  9. All the struts have been replaced, but anytime i go over even the smallest bump, my front struts make a sort of hollow knocking noise. Hard to describe, but it's there. Any ideas to what this problem could be?
  10. ... When you show it off to your friends as the god of all cars, then as soon as they turn their backs, curse in a furious rage because the iacv is "doing it" again, lol!
  11. you can get em at any autozone or discount auto parts for $5-10 for all the parts.
  12. well, i got the old ones out, and i put the SS's in and damn are they impressive. Thank you all for your help. 4000K's!!!!!!!!!! XD
  13. I just got these brand new very nice silverstars... and i have no idea how to put em in. I have a 1993 and i went to go take out the old bulbs(low beams) and it looks like my battery is in the way. Do i have to remove the housing in order to put these suckers in? on the passenger side, it looks like the windshield washing fluid is in the way. What do i do?
  14. Lately ive been using the secondary/valet key, but locking the door manually can get very old, very fast. Does anyone know where to get a new shell? i need something non-expensive, because a whole new key system really sucks!
  15. Mkay, so first of all, to clean the throttle body requires only removing the black induction tube, very easy. When I cleaned the IACV, i unbolted the throttle body from the intake and detached the IACV from the underbelly of the throttle body. There should be some screws that connect the IACV to the TB. I cleaned it on the spot, i didnt have unhook anything. And the only thing that needed to be purchased was the carb cleaner, make sure you get a kind that is safe for 02 sensors!!! Theres pictures and directions on how to properly clean an IACV here: (http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34636&hl=throttle+body+cleaning). Hope this helps.
  16. Yea, i finally got some carb cleaner and was able to clean my throttle body, and that worked really well. All you have to do is take off the black rubber induction tube and its right there. Clean that and then put in a k & n filter and that rough idle should disappear. An update: [X] Replace Air Filter(k&n) [X] Replace PCV valve [X] Clean injectors with fuel addatives [X] Clean Throttle Body [X] Clean IACV [ ] Clean EGR Its amazing what power you can get with simple little projects
  17. A high idle isnt really a bad thing. You should be thrilled that you have a high idle instead of really low idle into nothingness. I wish i had a high idle.
  18. I checked the oil level, and its perfect, how do i find out if my muffler is rusted or not? And im almost positive i replaced my engine mounts a while back.
  19. Check your tranny oil levels. If your trans oil is low the gears will hesitate or slip when accelerating into a turn or shifting on a turn.
  20. Just buy a can of $5 carb or TB cleaner at your local autozone and make sure its safe for O2 sensors. Then get yourself some tools and take off the black rubber induction tube that connect the airbox to the Throttlebody/ butterfly valve. Its located on the drivers side next to the intake manifold. Once you got the tube off and you can see the valve just spray it all in there and get a toothbrush and start scrubbin. DO NOT get the cleaner on anything but inside the throttlebody, its bad stuff. When it shines like new, put the induction tube back on, tighten it up, and fire the !Removed! up. now i had my friend spray it into my intake while i floored, but thats a risky job. Cleaning your Throttlebody does a lot of help in performance and gas milage. Its a fast easy job and its great for the life of your car.
  21. Everytime i start my car up, and start to drive, as soon as I reach 2,000 rpms my engine or something near it starts to shake or vibrate... or just plain make a lot of noise. And its only when the engine is cold, and it happens from 2,000-3,000 rpms. As soon as i hit 3rd gear it doesnt do it, and it only does it once, maybe twice. But it def does it everytime the engine isnt warmed up. It sounds (i think) like its coming from under the hood, but to perfectly describe what it sounds like.... it sounds like a really really crappy muffler or exhaust upgrade on a civic. I dont think its a bad prob... but maybe it is, and should i attempt to fix it? im stumped. BTW! god damn, Everyone here has helped me and my lexus so much. Ive upgraded the air filter, changed the pcv, cleaned my TB, and put injection cleaner in my gas. And god damn ive seen the massive improvements such simple things can do. Thanks a bunch all.
  22. yea, if your battery really is okay, then its your alternator. I just recently had to put in a new one and it wasnt too cheap, eh. Good luck though.
  23. mkay... so i fixed the hose and all is well! So after replacing the Air Filter and PCV valve i have seen AMAZING results!!! Increased power + gas milage + reliability. But theres still some things left to complete.... [X] Replace Air Filter [X] Replace PCV valve [ ] Clean injectors with fuel addatives [ ] Clean Throttle Body [ ] Clean IACV [ ] Clean EGR So far so good!
