My wife is clammoring for a sunshade to keep the RX cool in the parking lot. What have you used that you like?

The latest firmware upgrade from Verizon (1.05) has fixed the bugs that kept it from working fully on Bluetooth in my RX400h. Call waiting disconnect was the main fix.
I did the firmware upgrade but still won't connect. What is the call waiting disconnect you mentioned?

Seriously people, don't do drugs. Cocaine + Driving =

Too late now, but there are rust-specific paints you should use in situations like this. Rust is already present, and will continue to "grow" and simply bubble, pit and peel the new paint eventually.
-
That is some SERIOUS rust. Did Lexus move it to the new vehicle?
Do you dip that bad boy into the ocean, like to drop off a boat or jetskis?

I owned an Isuzu VehiCROSS for a while, talk about bad rear visibility.
That's why they gave us a rear camera. Look over your shoulder, use the mirrors, and you'll be fine.

Madman, we've had a pretty dry winter in Arizona, but mine have worked great so far. I do, however, think that the positions on the stalk are a bit difficult to see at night.

Memorize this: MIST, OFF, AUTO, LOW, HIGH. Now you don't need to see anything :)

Ours work very well. Rarely do we need to ever do a "mist" wipe. I have no complaints.

I don't think that's true, read my post. I think it just doesn't USE the battery up when in that mode, but it doesn't CREATE battery power either.
It's for use when driving down steep declines, like down from the mountains, to save on your brake pad wear.

Step one - stop typing in all caps :)

My experience and in reading zillions of online forums shows that no vehicle is "rock solid" - reliability certainly favors Japanese brands, with both German and American being far lower on the list. I'd much rather have a rattle than a mechanical problem.... But I say this even as my 400h has the annoying rear hatch rattle which we expect the dealer to resolve at the next service.

They don't do the customization for free??? I think they do.

There's a huge difference between the "fabric" mat that I think was standard and the rubbery mat that's being discussed here. I am never satisfied with those fabricy ones - they always move around and curl up and disappoint in general :)

Totally completele false. America's Tire and Discount Tire are the EXACT SAME COMPANY.
Discount Tire, also known as America's Tire in California, Oregon and Washington, is America's largest tire and wheel store. -
Only way to be sure... is to try

I'm not expecting that sort of miracle :) I'll price shop them online! So, I'll try and find the PN, and I'll post em here if I get lucky.

My guess is that in "B" mode (engine braking), although regenerative braking is deactivated, perhaps electric assist is too - meaning you're running on 100% engine, and generating electricity at the same time.
So... charging the battery but burning more gas.

I got three Hybrid Synergy Drive emblems from Glendale Lexus and three Hybrid logotype emblems all free for my 400h. I put them on wherever I wanted them and they look terrific. Rey Bustos
I love it - any chance you have the part numbers????????????

yes, both the new RX and the 400h (redesign in 2008 as 2009 model) will most likely get the platform that the highlander and the camry are using...
however, i hope they dont, cause that means its going to be a hand-me-down from toyota to lexus and not the other way around...
if lexus really wanted to get some prestige, they should make their own platforms.
Vehicle "platforms" cost tens-to-hundreds of millions of dollars to develop - I'm not sure if you're aware of that. Every Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln, Audi, Cadillac and Chrysler will forever share a platform with lesser vehicles. It allows you and I to have luxury at the prices you see today - if the RX was a standalone it would cost, well, what a Bentley or Maybach costs.

I bought the "Floorliner" all-weather mats from Weathertech (mats.com) and couldn't be happier. MUCH nicer than any normal rubber mat, and unlike the Lexus ones, come in colors other than black!
I hate the carpeted cargo mat, I'll be buying a rubber one.
Other than that, we're not in love with the aluminum look, might contemplate the wood overlay dash kits. If only I couls easily replace the steering wheel and a few other pieces, I'd do that!

Rx330driver, You're confusing terminology. HID is a general term, "High Intensity Discharge". Xenon lights ARE HID.
-
Lexus doesn't use the word xenon anywhere on their website in relation to the 400h, but they are indeed xenon from everything I've read.
High-Intensity Discharge (HID) HeadlampsHeadlamps that provide illumination three times that of conventional halogen headlamps while power consumption is reduced by roughly 30 percent. They also feature auto-leveling that automatically adjusts the angle of the headlamps to help reduce glare to oncoming drivers

In this cold weather, we got 25 MPG on our first tank in our "new" '06 400h.

Is $152 their normal price, or a special sale price while on backorder?

LexRexBlue, my guess is that you're mistaken.
