  1. yes, both the new RX and the 400h (redesign in 2008 as 2009 model) will most likely get the platform that the highlander and the camry are using...

however, i hope they dont, cause that means its going to be a hand-me-down from toyota to lexus and not the other way around...

if lexus really wanted to get some prestige, they should make their own platforms.

Vehicle "platforms" cost tens-to-hundreds of millions of dollars to develop - I'm not sure if you're aware of that. Every Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln, Audi, Cadillac and Chrysler will forever share a platform with lesser vehicles. It allows you and I to have luxury at the prices you see today - if the RX was a standalone it would cost, well, what a Bentley or Maybach costs.

  2. I bought the "Floorliner" all-weather mats from Weathertech (mats.com) and couldn't be happier. MUCH nicer than any normal rubber mat, and unlike the Lexus ones, come in colors other than black!

I hate the carpeted cargo mat, I'll be buying a rubber one.

Other than that, we're not in love with the aluminum look, might contemplate the wood overlay dash kits. If only I couls easily replace the steering wheel and a few other pieces, I'd do that!

  3. Lexus doesn't use the word xenon anywhere on their website in relation to the 400h, but they are indeed xenon from everything I've read.

    High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlamps

Headlamps that provide illumination three times that of conventional halogen headlamps while power consumption is reduced by roughly 30 percent. They also feature auto-leveling that automatically adjusts the angle of the headlamps to help reduce glare to oncoming drivers
