  1. OK, here's the deal, at wide open throttle my car has like hiccups. It's like the engine loses power almost completely, but then everything comes back. I want to say its like a fuel cut-off. I called a friend of mine at Lexus of Austin, a fellow tech, (though i'm more of an apprentice) and he thought that the problem could be with the throttle positioning sensor or the fuel pump.

Any input from any of you guys would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Well, I was reading the December issue of Sport Compact Car and came across the article about Paul Walker's R34...the thing that stuck out to me about the car was the rims. Article says that they are Prodrive rims. So I did some searching, and can't really find anything about them. I do know, that the ones he has are anthracite. So my question is this: Does anyone know if these would fit on a 1992 SC300? If no, what would need to be done to get them to fit? Because I just think these rims look amazing.

    Thanks

  3. OK, I need new tires. Tread size 215-60-15. Been looking at Falken Ziex ZE-512...they are only like $64 per tire...have a V rating (I think)...anyone ever used these tires or used Falkens in general? I've heard good things and bad things. My friend is in love with them..so I thought I might give them a try. Just looking for some input.

  4. I've done some searching and haven't found what i'm looking for. Hopings some of y'all might be able to help me out. I'm looking for a different kind of hood...maybe Invader style...I dunno, just something different. Also, the hood would have to serve a purpose if it is different. So yes, carbon fiber is an option. But alas, I don't see many styles of hoods. Anyone seen anything?

  5. OK, first, yes the SC300 can handle as much as the Supra can hold. The 700-800hp range isn't anything EXTREMELY big...a guy here in Austin has one that dynoed like 784hp to the wheels. YEs, like you said, you would either have to swap the tranny, or you could just build up the current tranny (assuming its an automatic). Second, if I recal correctly, the 1JZ-GTE is 2.5 liter...IMO the 2JZ-GTE is better..more torque due to more liters.

  6. As the title says, I have a SC300 (automatic) and am interested in doing the 2JZ-GTE swap. The only thing is, I want to do it in increments. The first thing that I want to do is swap out the tranny for the 6-speed Getrag Supra tranny. Anyone had any experience in swapping an auto tranny for the Supra TT manual tranny? I'm interested in costs mainly...not including labor...I have a few friends at Lexus of Austin (where I work) that are willing to help me do it for very little cost.

    Thanks,

  7. Well, I just got another SC300 and am wondering what the cost would be to have the interior of the car to be converted to the Soarer style...so moving the steering wheel, trading dash, and the rest of that.

    I have two questions:

    1) How much would it cost to move the interior to the other side....make it JDM?

    2) Can the JDM Soarer gauges (speedo, tach) be directly dropped in where the SC300's go? JUst a complete drop in.

    Thanks for the help.
