  1. If you don't want to pop for the V1 an option would be one of Beltronics models, either an RX 65 from a specialty store or the general market 995 which are significantly less expensive but still should do the job, just without the arrows. Finally, if you're really on a budget a Bel 795 can be had for as little as around $50 and has had good reviews. In fact, I have one as a backup in case my primary fails.
  2. Anyone on the forum have experience/knowledge with use of the SLD? Does the universal Type 2 really work with the RWD IS 250 automatic? Also assuming the SLD works, anyone know the v/max of the car?
  3. Duh??? This is what happens when you allow a member of the great unwashed on the board. Can I use the excuse that the car belongs to the wife? Anyway, thanks for the information.
  4. Does anyone know what the governed top speed is of the IS 250 RWD automatic? I've read that it is anywhere from 137 to 141 to 143 but I haven't heard or seen anywhere the definitive answer on this subject. Further, Toyota/Lexus seems to frown on publishing this information. Any light that someone can shed on this would be appreciated.
  5. I guess some people just live right or they have the right dealer. Were the tires gone cuz of the last 6 auto :whistles: X's you participated in?
  6. Change all four. Two might work but won't be optimum. You've got a premium car so spend the money, just wisely. Tirerack has Avon Tech 550 AS tires at a reasonable price that should do the trick for your intended use. Treadwear is 360AA for both and they have high ratings. Prices are $115/134 each. No, I don't sell the tires.
  7. The IS 250 is a great car! True, it's not that quick but that's not the point. It's good looking, gets good gas mileage and drives fairly well. The understeer is built in with the larger rear tires so an inexperienced driver will run less chance of overdoing it. If you are really hardcore, go out and get an Evo or STI or Z4M coupe and then mod the heck out of it. Any one of those should smoke an IS 350 in both acceleration and handling. Lexus is about style and comfort. :chairshot:
