  1. Hi,

    The battery on my wife's 07 RX350 was replaced in late November. She was advised to drive it regularly so as not to run it down due to inactivity.

    Knowing she'd be out of town for a month, we figured we'd just disconnect the battery like we'd done with our other cars. (Negative post was disconnected)

    She connected the battery today and it started just fine. She had to reset the seats, radio, steering column, etc.

    She noticed that the only the driver side window goes up and down. None of the other three windows work. She hasn't checked the moonroof.

    She also noticed that when you turn off the car, it sounds almost like a jet engine that whines/winds down vs. a simple quick engine cutoff.

    Questions:

    - Is there a reset for the windows?

    - Is the whining wind down sound the engine makes upon turning it off require some sort of a "reset" also? Done by the dealer perhaps?

    Your help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  2. Yes, it's very easy.

    Just follow the instructions which is very easy to follow and lots of diagrams to guide you.

    I just installed it on my wife's new RX350. No problems.

    Regarding performance? They are short mudguards, so don't expect them to catch most of the spray or items kicked up by the tires. But you know what? Every little bit helps, right? If it prevents a huge gash on the side panel by a single stone or rock, then it's well worth it to me.

    Ask your saleperson to buy it for you from their parts dept. They can get it at their employee price. I paid $85 for ours. I also bought the Lexus floor mats (heavy duty) and rear floor liner. Much cheaper than online, no shipping costs, and no wait.

  3. Hi,

    Since the RX330 and RX350 are pretty much the same, I thought I'd post this question here also.

    Hope you don't mind.

    We need to temporarily remove the RX350 rear spoiler to install a sign/graphic on the window.

    Removing the spoiler would help simplify installation of the full window graphic.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  4. Hi,

    While sitting with the finance guy, he offered a number of optional services such as:

    * Lexus Care Vehicle Service Agreement

    - 6yrs/70Kmiles = $1700

    - 7yrs/75K miles = $2100

    - 5yrs/100K miles = $2000

    - 6yrs/100K miles = 2100

    - 7yrs/100K miles = $2400

    * Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP Insurance); $540

    * Paint Protection Film (3M Scotchguard film); $995

    * Appearance Protection; $485

    * Lo-jack; $695

    * Zero Dents (dent, scratch, plus wheel repair)

    >Dings/Dents only

    - 3 yrs = $390

    - 4 yrs = $450

    - 5 yrs = $550

    >Wheel scrapes, small paint chips/scratches

    - Add $200 to any term

    * Diamond-Fusion Windshield Protection; $680

    Do you recommend any of the above? The Service agreement sounds only since it is $0 deductible and 100% refundable if not used. The Zero Dents program sounds interesting also.

    Would appreciate your thoughts please.

    Thanks,

  5. Hi folks,

    lexus.jpg

    Above are images I took of the Lexus' front side marker lights outside the housing.

    I took them about 3 months ago when both sides went out.

    What I found was that the electrical contacts inside each where the light bulbs make contact have rusted out and are barely there. Why? Water seems to collect inside the housing. When this happens, the light socket/bulb are swimming in water. This eventually shorts out the bulb and over time eats away at the contacts.

    The contacts are now barely there and one of the lights went out again. So, it looks like we're going to have to replace the socket. Might as well get both done.

    Can I buy the socket piece (qty 2)? How much does each cost?

    Any of you guys experience the same problem? Possible fix?

    Thanks,

    eagle-7
