  1. Thanks. Going to each window and running a cycle of up and down and holding the button a few seconds longer after it is all the way up worked. r, eagle-7
  2. Hi, The battery on my wife's 07 RX350 was replaced in late November. She was advised to drive it regularly so as not to run it down due to inactivity. Knowing she'd be out of town for a month, we figured we'd just disconnect the battery like we'd done with our other cars. (Negative post was disconnected) She connected the battery today and it started just fine. She had to reset the seats, radio, steering column, etc. She noticed that the only the driver side window goes up and down. None of the other three windows work. She hasn't checked the moonroof. She also noticed that when you turn off the car, it sounds almost like a jet engine that whines/winds down vs. a simple quick engine cutoff. Questions: - Is there a reset for the windows? - Is the whining wind down sound the engine makes upon turning it off require some sort of a "reset" also? Done by the dealer perhaps? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks, eagle-7
  3. I've had our RX300 exclusively maintained by Toyota. When it needed the transmission replaced, I took it to Lexus and they honored the fact that it was maintained by a Toyota dealership. Thanks, eagle
  4. Thanks lenore. :) I went ahead and did the "Buy Now" for the struts. About $66 bucks for the pair. I'll let you know how the installation goes. r, eagle
  5. Thanks lenore! Is the installation simple? Do you simply remove the bolts on the existing strut and then install the new strut using the oem bolts? r, eagle
  6. Thanks Twin Turbo. I'm trying to see if I can find the part from an auto parts store. It doesn't seem complicated to replace. Any suggestions on vendors who might have the part? Thanks, eagle
  7. Hi, Left trunk strut of our 2000 RX300 just failed. Anyone know how much to replace it? Would it matter if I take it to Toyota? Cost difference? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks, eagle
  8. I actually downloaded the operating manual for the garage door opener. With that info, the vehicle manual, plus the info here, I was able to get it done right at my very first try. Cool! Thanks.
  9. Hi, I have a Liftmaster 1/2 hp garage door opener with rolling code feature. I tried the suggestion here to press the garage door opener remote button and the homelink button together, then press the Learn button on the garage door opener overhead unit, then push the homelink button again. It worked! Thanks.
  10. They're saving the major refresh for 09 I guess. So, just enough to make it slightly visually different from the 07. Saves money too I suppose.
  11. If you have the dealer install it, the cost would have been at least $350. Yikes! r, eagle
  12. Hi nowstime, It all depends on how honest the seller is on eBay I suppose. Thanks, eagle
  13. Yes, it's very easy. Just follow the instructions which is very easy to follow and lots of diagrams to guide you. I just installed it on my wife's new RX350. No problems. Regarding performance? They are short mudguards, so don't expect them to catch most of the spray or items kicked up by the tires. But you know what? Every little bit helps, right? If it prevents a huge gash on the side panel by a single stone or rock, then it's well worth it to me. Ask your saleperson to buy it for you from their parts dept. They can get it at their employee price. I paid $85 for ours. I also bought the Lexus floor mats (heavy duty) and rear floor liner. Much cheaper than online, no shipping costs, and no wait. r, eagle
  14. Hi, Since the RX330 and RX350 are pretty much the same, I thought I'd post this question here also. Hope you don't mind. We need to temporarily remove the RX350 rear spoiler to install a sign/graphic on the window. Removing the spoiler would help simplify installation of the full window graphic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, eagle-7

  16. Thanks for the tip on Venture Shield. I went to their website venturetape.com, ventureshield.com, & the US website at invisiblepatterns.com. I'm going to pursue this more. Thanks again. r, eagle-7
  17. Hi, While sitting with the finance guy, he offered a number of optional services such as: * Lexus Care Vehicle Service Agreement - 6yrs/70Kmiles = $1700 - 7yrs/75K miles = $2100 - 5yrs/100K miles = $2000 - 6yrs/100K miles = 2100 - 7yrs/100K miles = $2400 * Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP Insurance); $540 * Paint Protection Film (3M Scotchguard film); $995 * Appearance Protection; $485 * Lo-jack; $695 * Zero Dents (dent, scratch, plus wheel repair) >Dings/Dents only - 3 yrs = $390 - 4 yrs = $450 - 5 yrs = $550 >Wheel scrapes, small paint chips/scratches - Add $200 to any term * Diamond-Fusion Windshield Protection; $680 Do you recommend any of the above? The Service agreement sounds only since it is $0 deductible and 100% refundable if not used. The Zero Dents program sounds interesting also. Would appreciate your thoughts please. Thanks, eagle-7
  18. Hi, Just picked up a new RX350 yesterday for my wife. Got the Lexus all weather floor mats and cargo tray (Weathertech vs. Lexus). Any other accessories the collective here consider must or good to have? We're thinking about getting the mudguards. Are they easy to install? Thanks, eagle-7
  19. Hi, My wife has a 00 RX300 and is thinking about getting a 330, 350 or even a 400. Are these later models "immune" from the transmission problems of the 300? Don't want to mistake of getting one without checking with the collective wisdom here. If not this SUV, we may end up getting the Infiniti FX. Thanks, eagle-7
  20. Hi, Sorry for my ignorance but LEDs and super LEDs? I've heard of these for accessories but not necessarily for markers. Any info on such for RX300s? Thanks.
  21. Thanks. I asked a couple of local dealers for replacement parts. Socket is about $13. Whole side marker assembly that includes housing and socket is $25-$45. Went ahead and got the assembly. Thanks, eagle-7
  22. Hi folks, Above are images I took of the Lexus' front side marker lights outside the housing. I took them about 3 months ago when both sides went out. What I found was that the electrical contacts inside each where the light bulbs make contact have rusted out and are barely there. Why? Water seems to collect inside the housing. When this happens, the light socket/bulb are swimming in water. This eventually shorts out the bulb and over time eats away at the contacts. The contacts are now barely there and one of the lights went out again. So, it looks like we're going to have to replace the socket. Might as well get both done. Can I buy the socket piece (qty 2)? How much does each cost? Any of you guys experience the same problem? Possible fix? Thanks, eagle-7
  23. Thanks guys. So, the choices are WD40 and white grease. Where do you get white grease? Is there a brand I should look for? Thanks, eagle-7
  24. Hi, When the antenna retracts, it makes a rather annoying clicking noise. Antenna works fine but I'm just wondering if there is a fix for this. Thanks, eagle-7
