  1. i have all 4 speakers, amp, and head unit off a 96 sc400 they are compatible, are you interested? i live in GA as well, northwest of Atlanta in Marietta, we could possibly arrange a pickup if you want email = SkidsiXX22@aim.com i don't check back here too much so i prefer emails ill hook u up with my cell # if you can do it
  2. every single person i have talked to who does car audio for a living tells me that the nakamichi amp will not run with after market parts its pretty old technology too, 1991-99 they didnt design stock head units too probably even have ports for two amps? especially one being stock and one being aftermarket so are u saying u have the fosgate amp and the nakamichi plugged into the stock unit and ur aftermarket sub and stock speakers are all working fine?
  3. that should work if you have an aftermarket head unit that you somehow rigged to work with the stock amp, otherwise theres no way that amp and sub are gonna work with your stock head unit
  4. fuel injectors maybe old bmw used to have a whole lot of trouble at low speeds in neighberhoods goin uphill when it was cold outside or had been sitting not driven for awhile
  5. Hey guys i'm thinkin about getting these Konig Free Falls I wanted to get 18 x 7.5, do you guys think that would fit well in the front and rear? i heard 18 performs the best, 19 looks the best, and 20 is impractical as far as U turns and stuff i plan on putting a veilside executive sports body kit on later, so keep that in mind. can someone also explain some of the terms to me for wheels as well, like staggered and all that i never have any idea what people are talking about... but basically do you think this will be a good fit and look good? thanks, chase
  6. i'm really diggin the interior and the creativity of putting those speakers in that way only thing i'd be against is that i would assume it would take away leg room in an already cramped car lol and plz change rims, dont feel bad though im ridin stock, they're ugly as hell
  7. instillation on my system was 600$ as well, theres a lot of custom work with sc 400's bc they aren't meant for aftermarket systems, custom cutting of speakers wells and custom dash kits for the head unit but exactly what go dawg said is correct go to best buy and they will check it out for free on what exactly is wrong, once you find out that much; the decision is up to you if you want to replace it all and go aftermarket which will be somewhere between 700-2000$ depending on what kinda stuff ur getting not including installs if it turns out there are specific problems with pieces of ur system i will sell them to you
  8. sweetness, i guess i will just scan ebay for something similar thanks guys, i'll let ya kno how it turns out :-)
  9. thankyou guys, reading through what you have said i have decided to go with this one... http://www.hottexhaust.com/detail.asp?product_id=14826 u guys think it'll look/perform/sound good? if so i'm getting it as soon as i get the money
  10. thanks man :-) oh and one last thing, what should the positioning be it tells me that when purchasing a muffler you can get it aligned right, center, or left would i just get center on each one or what? or right on one and left on the other? and will diamter matter on a round one? thats wut i think im gonna go for or the length, 6" 7"?
  11. im pretty sure an aftermarket sub will not run with the stock system
  12. no problem you've and jibby have been pulling my !Removed! along the trail in the exhaust forum helping me decide what to do there lol so if anything thankyou
  13. would u guys say its a good idea to take out all of the cats so i can get maximum gains, because they are just used for emissions and actually restrict the exhaust right? or should i just leave like the rear cat and take out the two fronts so i can atleast pass emissions also: i found this website which deals in magnaflow mufflers http://www.hottexhaust.com/magnaflow_stainless_steel.htm should i go for oval or round? and it should give me a deep throaty sound right, not any of that high pitched crap if somone could out of those mirror finish ones on the site, just pick out the right size and stuff and tell me which part on there i should buy and if im gonna need two for each side, i just want to be cautious and know that i got it right before i deal out the money i think depending on your answer about the cats im going to keep only one of them and just do custom stainless steel piping up to the engine piping size needed on an sc is 2.25" correct? these questions might seem dumb but im a noob at these things lol thanks, chase
  14. hopefully it will solve the problem and that will be the end of it for you but if you buy that amp and the subwoofer, you're gonna have to buy a new aftermarket head unit, front speakers, and rear speakers and a 4 channel amp and mono amp for the sub if you want to do it right, but u can bridge it if not if the cleaning doesnt work ur options are buying parts to fix the stock or buying all new aftermarket
  15. yea exactly, this is a replacement if yours are broken the catch on these cars is this... if you change one piece of the stock system it all has to go, the stock nakamichi amp will not run with any aftermarket parts, so if you get new speakers nothing in the system will work you're either gonna have to be spending 1000$ plus on an aftermarket system or replacing your broken ones with stock systems. Nakamichi's are really good systems, i made the mistake of replacing it so early, unless you are getting a very very nice aftermarket system the stock will suffice you unless you want to spend about 600$ on custom installs and 1000$ or more on parts depending on what you get just so you get cool features like ipod adaptation features i couldnt see why you cant install a 10" instead of an 8" if thats what you think you have, theres not less space on a sc300 then a sc400 so i imagine you could do it. Buy these if you want to get excellent condition stock pieces, otherwise if you want aftermarket be prepared to make a very large investment let me know, chase and yes you already have a stock amp, these are simply replacements for broken pieces of ur system
