Hi... Just bought 98 gs400 2 weeks ago. Just discover this afternoon that : when I open any rear door on the car, neither of the front dome light nor the small white light at the bottom of each door is working. So after reading here, I found how to remove the door small plastic lens. I tested the small bulb and it is working good, from a spare battery. So it seem that the problem is "no current". I also checked in the owner manual for somekind of a fuse or relai for all this, but didnt find nothing constructive. The electric windows are working well and roof light at the near top of the door beside the top door handle his working. I couldnt find either any kind of switch around the door like in ls400 1992 : there was some black rubber boot with the switch underneat. Could it be both of my door switch defect ???? Is there someone here who had the same problem ??? Any advice is welcome DTM

Well after looking all over town for 16 inches rims that could fit my Gs, I found them at the Lexus dealer $70 each (cdn). Maybe more then expected and also more than those jobber brand, but at least they fit without problem. A happy ending. P.S. the car run great and is more fun to drive than my beloved Ls400 (traded-in) Dantheman Just took possession of my 1998 Gs 400 today in 6 inches of snow. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Hi, Just about to trade my ls400 (92) for a gs400 (98) (waiting for the bank approuval...) First I fell in love with this car (gs400) (3 days ago) as much as I fell in love with my Ls400 four years ago, but now want to change to something sportier. The car is mounted on (the optional???) chrome 17 inches wheels, and since here in Montreal we got a lot of snow during winter time, I was wondering if you got some advice on what kind of rims I should put on for winter. It seem that there is no black steel ordinary 17 inches rims on the market at least here in Montreal and was hoping if someone could give me some hint on what I should look for. Hi me again. My wooden console near the shifter is all cracked under the cups holder. Is it current on all ls 400 ? Anyway I would either like to - replace it with a new one the same color - or if someone know if it can be repair ? Every time I found a other lexus ls 400 in a parking lot I go give a look and found most if not all of them already started to crack. Can someone give me some advises. Thank again

Me again... Well, last week I found a recycler 5 miles from here who got a nice 1994 green Ls400 who at roll up up the the ditch. So I bought the 2 oxygen sensor there was on that car for $100. and had them installed for $25. End of the problem. Made at least 600Kml since and no more warning light. An other good thing done.

Sorry for my 2 day of absence, my hard disk just died. Weel Kolofai, i didn't installed. it is my "Lebeau vitres d'auto" dealer who installed it four years ago. So it would be very hard for to tell you what brand it is and how it is installed sorry... Wow, just got a brilliant idea, just phoned where they installed it and they still had all my info in their computer... So, it is a "Astro Start, model # 1105. What I can tell you about it is The stock lexus alarm still work perfectly and very transparent. It start every time when close (125 ft) but when further like 500 ft, it depend where i am park, sometime 2-3 parking place further or closer, on the right or the left will do a better job. Test done at my job parking lot. It also unlock the door and the trunk. And a panic button that make play the horn for positionnning your vehicule in large parking lot. There is also a button to lock the door and arm the alarm. A friend of my who had a cheaper model in is car (just start and shut up) didn't had any problem with where the car was park : all the spots I had problem remote starting, he didn't have any problem. hic

Yes, no problem. I went to my installer, took 1 hour to install, nerver had problem even here in mid quebec, famous for our cold winther, and for the last four years. Very dependable, No flaw ever. Ls 400 1992 Just changed the oxygen sensor Repaired the a/c (new reglementation) Just ordered a new LCD dysplay on a-gon ( $157) A New Car dantheman

Hi I am a newbie on this post and I would like to ask all of you ls 400 owner about my problem.. Since maybe a month, the track-off and engine warning light came on. I went to the Lexus dealer $ $ $ $ about this problem and they told me that I need to replace my oxygen sensor. So when he told me it would cost around a 1000$ CDN to be fix I back off. Since then the lights come on and off 2 to 3 time per week sometime stay on for few days (3-4) then come off (1-2) day. So I think maybe its not the oxygen sensor and maybe it is something else. Or maybe he is right. Did someone of you ever came with this problem??? I need help. Dantheman
