  1. It worked well, Sorry I didn't post any pics yet, But will once I get some. I keep forgetting to do it when I am out and about with my camera... I will get to it eventually.. Thanks for all the help I hope this topic helps others trying to align their headlights... :)
  2. I have been looking High and low all year for the Top engine Black plastic cover that goes around and over the Fill Cap and what looks to be hydraulics on the left side of the engine. I Can't find a part number or anything on any of the Lexus parts lists anywhere. I found one on Ebay once for 45 bucks plus astronomical shipping, But didn't find it that relevant to kick in that much for a used one. I will come across one eventually for reasonable, but would like a part number to use when I search, Does anyone know that part or the number? Thanks!....
  3. Thanks for the info. With your help I figured out how to do the alignment. When I am finished I will post a pic of the new brackets I had to make for the top.. Thanks again. Indi
  4. Got my internet back :) I partially pulled the bumper off as to not to have to entirely remove it. I am not positive if it is a fine threaded screw or a lag screw that goes in there. Is it a fine threaded type bolt, Or a (wood screw) type thread on that bolt? Thanks!.. Nick
  5. I have no one to take it back to it was an as is deal, but it measures up good. No bends in the main frame, but the front nose top coolant frame is out of position just a little they fit the Hood and Fenders back in to be correct, but the headlight bracket bolt holes pull the lights out of position just a little and a little is a lot when it comes to aiming. One bracket was broken, but there is good news. Thank God Lexus had the foresight to put several self tapper holes in exactly next to where the bracket is so it can be re-bracketed to fit easily. So I will cut all the brackets off the headlights fit the headlights in perfect tape them well into position level and to the body how they should be then fabricate some new brackets drilled to fit and bolt the headlights back in place before removing the tape. Sounds like a lot, but it's fairly simple and I want it to function correctly. I could just replace the broken bracket bore out the holes in the other brackets etc, but this will make for a tighter more perfect fit. I will let you know how it turns out.. :) Thanks! for your help it pointed me in the right direction.. Indi
  6. This is too Awesome!... Yeah the slant is more like the extreme one, Not as bad, but yeah like that. I will measure and see how things sit. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the frame was off. Some things were like someone fixed it in their backyard blindfolded. Good thing I only paid 20k for it with 37k miles It Has GPS and everything So if I have to put a little into it such is life. It looks great now, Just a few things I have to do like this... :) Indi
  7. This is awesome! Thank you for doing so much work. I still am wondering about the slanting of both lights. If you were to take those lines that have to be even with each other and pointed them downward to the right they are at an angle like if the right tires were both flat. When I align both of them they make one long crooked line like both right tires are flat or I was on an incline to the right I was wondering how to correct that if possible, or if that is normal? Thank you so much.. Indi
  8. Hello All I am looking for the headlight alignment dimensions for the 2008 RX 350 HID head lamps to align them, IE distance between the two bulbs I can get the height easily, but not the width. My Pre-owned Rx350 had a front end collision and Whomever did the work didn't know what they were doing, I am now doing the final things to fix their shoddy work. My headlights look like they are at an angle high on the left lower on the right, Maybe this is correct maybe not?. On level ground the headlamp horizontal line image on my garage door looks crooked like the car is leaning when it's not. I would also like to know if I have to and can turn the projector image as well to level out the line? I would like the measurements though so I can be sure they are aligned proper. I could pull right up to the garage door I guess, but it's nice to have the actual dimensions :) I love this place and appreciate all the help I get and can provide others. Thanks Indi
  9. Got it! It's a screw behind The door sill trim that says Lexus at the bottom of the door. You gently pull it out at the top of that trim piece where it meets near the dash you can hang it around the parking brake when pulled out. There will be 1 screw there. Take it out and gently pull the dash out starting near that screw the rest are yellow clips. There are wires attached so just pull it out far enough to get at the OBD plug. Pop the plug out of the hole and bend the left metal tab up a little with a pliers just a little to make it a little tighter. The OBD outlet should now snap back in nice and snug. Takes about 10 min tops.. Thanks for your help.... :) Indi
  10. If it's not too hard to get at, I would rather fix it myself than drive 160 miles to have them tell me to come back when they get the part then another 160 miles plus all the time it takes going to and fro it makes more sense, if it takes less time, just to fix it myself. Thanks! Indi
  11. Hello all The plastic OBDII plug retainer clip on one side of the plug is either broken or just won't snap into place, so it's loose and the plug wants to push out of the slot when I try to plug the gauge into it. It's near impossible to plug into. I would like to hot glue it in place, but cannot figure out how to get at the side of the plug. I need to know what to remove. Should it be the knee bag panel or something else?. If I could just get to it, it would be a simple fix.. Thanks for any input in advance... Indi
  12. So it goes in behind the exterior plastic bumper and in front of the steel bumper? Thanks!... Indi
  13. That diagram is nice, are there any other pages to that that can help me make heads or tales of what's what? Thanks!.. Indi
  14. I don't have any recourse so I will have to buy one and fix it myself. I just was wondering if it was structural to holding up the bumper. I pray the bumper is properly aligned or I may need to do more work. Thanks! so very much for your help and the diagram I very much appreciate it!... Indi
  15. I have a 2008 RX350 It had a front end collision and was repaired. The seams where the front bumper and fender weren't meeting perfectly and hanging down forward a tiny bit. When I took it apart I noticed there isn't that much holding the bumper in place and I noticed the front bumper absorber is missing. Does the foam absorber physically support the bumper up in any way? I don't have another complete vehicle to look at so if anyone has any knowledge about this it would be very helpful. Thanks for any input in advance... Indi
  16. Sounds like a lot of work :) I was hoping it was easy on the 2008, Oh well! Thanks for all your input I really appreciate it.. Indi
  17. I want to install turn signal side mirrors. Does anyone know if the turn signal wiring already exists in the 2008 RX 350 mirrors or do I have to wire them from scratch? Thanks in advance for any input.. Indi
  18. You guys are too spend thrift. Patch it good and forget it. I used to repair small engines. I had a rod punch through the block of an engine and repaired the hole with epoxy and a screen it still runs to this day. If you do a proper patch with good adhesion it will hold up as long as you own the car. I used hot glue to repair my Window wash bottle it is still holding fine. If it's a Hair line crack you drill a tiny hole through at both ends of the crack so the crack doesn't travel further, then you seal it.
  19. I get a code 23 when I run the AC diagnostic. I also noticed that the AC pressure is in the bottom of the yellow barely above the blue in the caution yellow area on the gauge. Could this make the AC shut down and not work properly? I get cool air not cold. When I turn the AC off and on I hear the engine idle up and down like normal when you turn the ac on. Are there any suggestions?
  20. I found this out: Hold recirculate and auto buttons down while turning ignition on will bring up diagnostics I searched first, But nothing comes up under rx350 So I tried rx330 and viola there it was. Same diagnostics.
  21. The cold air AC is not working. Pressure reads correctly when on the gauge while attempting a refill, But it still blows no cold air. The diagnostic code is 21 and 24 at night. I will run it again tomorrow. I have to repair this myself, there is no warranty . If you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate it... Thanks!.
  22. Thanks you answered all my questions. It is a seat cushion from a 2002 Passenger side put into my older 1999 lexus driver side. I now notice a tiny difference, But it works and is comfortable. I would never had known about the difference if you hadn't told me. I could just swap the covers, but that would be much more work. I think I will leave well enough alone. Thanks for your help... Nick
  23. Thanks for your response. I never had back heat in this car on either side, Maybe it was an option? I do have a rocker switch that operates both seats I noticed that it is different than other same year models It is (left) "driver seat on" (center) "both off" & (right) "both seats on". The seat I removed the newer cushion from had an outlet for this extra wire where my older seat does not. I am just wondering if it were another heat coil, or temp sensor inside the lower seat of some kind? I hope someone knows. Anyway I converted the left seat cushion from a 2002 to the right seat on my 1999 i don't know if that would make any difference either. The Airbag control was totally separate from any wiring I had to hook up for the lower seat as I changed only the lower cushion and not the frame or back seat The cushion is a little different than the 99 model in size, but not functionally or visually inept it still looks and functions correctly. Thanks!... Nick
  24. I had a huge hole in my 1999 RX300 driver seat I bought a 2002 lower cushion from the junk yard. There are 2 cables coming out of the new cushion and only one coming from the old cushion, I have a matched socket for one of the wires, but none for the other the seat heats up, but i still don't know what the other cable is for? Does anyone know? This is for the lower cushion only.. THanks!.. Nick
  25. Indy- Aren't you grateful for forums and the community team effort that they entail. When I think of all the help that is available to people who need it that wasn't there even 20 years ago, I want to say God Bless whoever invented the internet (and I'm pretty sure it WASN'T Al Gore) I found these sites AFTER I figured out how to do it on all 4 of the doors on my DIL's RX, boy do I wish I had found (sites) them BEFORE! Yes I am grateful. The internet has brought a world closer together that was far apart at one time. We can see things that we would have never dreamed of. I think of a passage in revelations that said we would be able to travel from one place to another in a matter of seconds (I paraphrase) I wonder if this means the internet...?
