  1. I'd totally be up for it!! I've been waiting to find an event like that, I think it would be a lot of fun. I live in Orange County, ca. but don't mind driving up to Santa Monica first to meet up and then do the run to LA or vise versa. I love to drive my 350 so much, this is the perfect excuse to put some miles on it. I hope there are enough owners around here that would be up for the run. ...its not a waste of gas if you're having fun burning it, and driving a 350 up and down the southern california coast ranks up there as one of the funnest ways to burn gas! Lets hope this works out caraveli.
  2. Yeah, horsepower and mph are both shockinly different. HP in the right direction, MPG in the wrong. It's not too bad on fuel, though. My friend just bought the Hemi Charger and it only gets about 7MPG. THe 12-18MPG they advertise is with the A/C off and grandma driving. Overall, I'm very pleased with my change. I don't mind sacrificing a little mpg for overall comfort and style.
  3. I agree with barkat wholeheartedly. Keep it stock until you can notice a descrepancy. Even the base model 350 will be more than sufficient. Lexus doesn't really do a "base model" but you have to call it something. Have fun on the track!!
  4. Hey, diamond. I've not experienced the mirror darkening too much" thing, but I have noticed that it darkens when I'm on a bright street, with a lot of street lights. It doesn't create a problem, I just thought it was a little too dark. Regarding the injectors, that is definitely the direct injection. I run an auto repair shop and when the direct injection came out on other models, everyone used to bring their cars in with a "valve lifter" noise...Problem is, THERE ARE NO VALVE LIFTERS. The injectors tick, you'll have to get used to it. BUt hey, with 306 hp and low emissions, who can complain???
  5. I just traded in a Honda Civic Hybrid for my IS350 & am using the same generic, accordion style reflecting sunshade that I bought at the local swap meet (Orange County Fair Grounds, Ca.). It fits perfectly...its almost a little too big, but creates a very snug fit. It doesn't let a peep of light in. For what its worth,
  6. Thanks guys!! I'll definitely be keeping the shiny side up. It is very tempting though, because every Beemer in town wants to race me when I get near them. Just earlier today I had an M3 following me around and taunting me at every stop. It was every hard to resist the temptation. I sprinted with him only once to the next stop light.....Totally smoked him. I'm not sure if he was easing off or not, but he sure seemed like he was trying his best. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome. Later.
  7. I just purchased my first Lexus. A Silver/Black IS350 oh my gosh!!!!! This thing hauls !Removed! and I don't have to worry about getting 6mpg like with an old muscle car. I love the nav system and I'm still trying to figure everything out with it. Look forward to chatting with you all. I've already been able to purchase a protective screen cover for the nav system by browsing the forums, and I'm looking for a car cover now. This is a GREAT site, it makes my lexus owning experience even better, which I never thought could happen after driving the car... All this thing needs now is a set of wings and afterburners and I'd be following the blue angles around. B) Talk with you all soon, Brett
