  1. Hi Forum members,

I am the proud owner of a new 08 IS-F. I'd like to replace the NAV DVD and, although I am reading the instructions, I am finding it difficult to replace the DVD.

The instructions say to insert the two special tools provided into the holes on either side of the clock panel. I can't seem to find the holes! Can anybody provide any assistance or, possibly, a better picture of the holes?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to sharing things with you all in the future.

    Joey

  2. I have not hit any curbs or done other damage to the wheels or suspension that I know of. I took the car into the dealer today and they read the codes. The computer told the techs that the oxygen sensor on bank #1 was bad so they replaced it and the multitude of warnings have not come back.

Regarding the fuel filler cap, it just feels weird to me. I urn it clockwise and will stop after a few clicks thinking the cap's on tight. The weird thing (to me) is that just the slightest pressure counterclockwise is enough to begin the removal of the cap. I seem to remember that it took substantially more than just a feather touch to begin the removal process. What do you all think?

  3. Hi Duckman,

I did some further research and found that there is a small switch on the lower lip of the driver's side dash. The consensus was that the four tires needed to be set to spec and then this switch needed to be pressed, while the ignition is on, until the tire warning indicator flashed three times. This action apparently reinitializes the system at the current tire pressure level and then monitoring is resumed from that point forward.

After turning the car off and then on again the light is now extinguished. My wife was upset (who'd guess) that I "fixed" it because she and my daughter were looking forward to ice cream and donuts on the weekend.

  4. Greeting Forum members. I have an '06 GS-300 AWD with runflat tires. The tire pressure warning system activated today and I checked all four tires with a mechanical guage. The four tires were all within 35 PSI +/- a pound. My question is: What is the lower pressure limit at which the system is supposed to activate?

I have had this same issue before and the dealer "took care of it" by putting all four tires at 40 PSI which I think is too much but I could be wrong. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Hi,

I was interested in trading my `06 GS-300 AWD with everything but radar, 9k miles, perfect paint including the front due to having the 3M clear bra installed, on a new IS-F and was appalled at what my dealer would offer me for my trade ($25,500). I almost choked and will never ever believe another Lexus marketing hype saying how well they hold their value. Never again.....

  6. Greetings forum members. I have an '06 GS-300 with light tan, heated and cooled, perforated leather front seats. The driver's seat has taken on a dark hue, probably from the transfer of clothing dyes, that I don't like.

Are there any recommended special techniques for cleaning perforated leather? Also, what product do you use and recommend. I know Lexus sells some leather maintenance items but I know there must be others that work just as well and are less pricey.

    Thanks in advance!

  7. Greetings to everyone on the forum. I have a 2006 GS-300 with the navigation system. Over the period of about a year or so, I have been "marking" places that I have been, some with names and some without names. Those positions that I have marked and never put a name to appear as red flags.

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to delete those pesky flags! Can anyone help a mostly uninformed user (me) of the navigation system how to delete the flags??

    Thanks in advance!!!
