  1. Well I think you can rule out selling it to anyone on this forum.
  2. Hmm... Kind of like a clunking? Does the car downshift when you accelerate? It could just be the car dropping to a lower gear when you let off.
  3. Errrrr, not too much man. A couple thousand dollars, perhaps... At best.
  4. Errr, that sounds PRETTY low man... I'd look into a bit more before sending any money their way. Do they say what exact stall it is? 3,000? 3,500? And changing a Torque Converter sucks. Not so much getting to it, but getting it off is another story. I had a 3,500RPM Stall on my '91 Plymouth Laser, and when I had to take it off to sell the engine when I parted it out... It took me forever to get the thing off trying not to break the bolts. Care to post the link?
  5. No problem man. Good luck though, keep us posted on the developements!
  6. I think I'm going with a GS400/430, after hearing the sound clips of those things with exhaust, haha. A 4.3liter V8 would be better for what I'm doing anyway, seeming as I don't want to modify too much. There's no power like stock power. ;)
  7. 3-4... Keep in mind my only experience with them is on Honda Civics, and even then, I've never done it COMPLETELY myself, I've just helped. So in the case of your car being a Lexus and all, I'd probably just pay to have it done, and know it's done correctly.
  8. Oooooh, I thought you were asking would the output be bright than STOCK HID... It will definately be brighter than stock GS lighting.
  9. ... Why not just buy a second set of headlights, most of the work is fabricating the housings. They typically sell on Ebay for about $60 a piece, so ask yourself this: Is $120 worth having your baby for the fabrication time? I say it would be well worth it. Because then after the job is done, you have another set you can resell and make your money back. The installation shouldn't take more than a few hours AT MOST, they just have to install the Ballasts, wire up everything, and install the headlights. And they use stock components, so the output shouldn't be any brighter. But it will look DAAAAMN good. Have you considered doing the Yellow HID Foglights?
  10. After watching that... I think the Tanabe takes it. And after watching that... I want a GS430 instead of GS300, haha. :D
  11. It's quite a bit of work, a few friends of mine have done this on their Honda Civics, and it comes out looking amazing, if it's done CORRECTLY. Considering how much they're charging, I'd say they better do a good job, and if they do a good job, you'll love the way they turn out.
  12. DAMN... I've never owned a vehicle with Automatic. That appears to be the only down side here, other than that, I think I may go with it. :D
  13. Thanks guys, that's EXACTLY what I want to hear. :) One thing... They didn't make these things in Manaul Transmission, did they?
  14. Hey guys, Currently, my Daily Driver is my 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro MT5. It's a great car (A bit sluggish, but that's fine), it's very beautiful, drives great, and I honestly love the car. However, costs of maintenance, random expensive problems, and inability to work on the car, is making me change my mind on keeping it for much longer. So I've been looking for another Daily Driver lately, I've considered Acura TSX/TL, BMW 330ci, and Lexus SC/GS300. I've decided to settle on 98+ GS300, as it's a nice sized sedan, has beautiful lines, and appears to be easy to work on. If you guys wouldn't mind, could you answer a few questions for me to aid me in my purchase? -Over all, how do you like your GS? -How is the leg room for the driver? This is very important to me, seeming as I'm 6'6" -Are they difficult to work on? I wouldn't imagine the Naturally Aspirated Inline 6 would be very hard, but that's what I thought about the 1.8T in the Audi. -What are the most common problems? i.e Clicking CV Joints, Valve Tick, Phantom CELs, etc -Anything else I should know? I am not planning on modifying this car too much... A mild exhaust system, full suspension, nice wheel and tire combination, front lip, light tint... Nothing too crazy. I'm not looking for the car to be fast, reliability is in mind here. I already have my race car, so this car will be the sexy car. Anyway, I appreciate any input, negative and positive. I want to get a good idea of what I'll be getting myself in to. Thanks in advance!
