Okay, went to the local Lexus Dealer yesterday, after tearing into the dash and other parts of the car, they found a connector in the trunk (left side) sitting in water that was collecting in the bottom of the LHS of the trunk. They recommended replacement of the wire harness ($1500 including labor).
The car is put back together and runs fine with the connector unplugged. In fact I'm not sure yet what the conector powers...
Water is drained out of the wheel wells (drilled holes in the botton to preclude more collection of water).
I'll probably bypass to connector as the permanent fix. Thanks all for the help and direction.
