There are more difference between the US and the european version than you might see at first sight. I.e. the overhead compartment beside the moonroof control. The european version does not have this compartment, because we have an intrusion detector instead (pressure of insurance companies). Hey Scott, I've ordered my IS250 RWD with Nav/Lux and Mark Lev package in early january. Till today I still have no confirmation for my order. The expected shipping date, when I've signed the order, was April/May, but in the meanwhile I don't expect to see my car before june. Regards Dat Ei

I had a talk to a german Lexus supporter. He told me that the german (european) assurance companies have stricter policies for car-theft-protection systems than the american ones. To fulfill these requirements the european IS version has a (different) car intrusion detection, which is build in the overhard console. The conclusion is that there chance to get a replacement part for the overhead console as long as you have a european IS, as long as you don't want to risk your insurance coverage and as long as you are not willing to pay higher insurance contributions.
