  1. What??? I'd like to know where you live if it's cheaper there. Considering what has to be done to get to the TB & WP on these cars and the fact that it includes the 2 parts, I'd say that's a good deal. I was recently quoted $1200 P&L from an indy to replace TP, WP, tensioner, and pulleys and $1800 from Lexus for the same. Agreed! I drive a Hyundai Elantra and the dealer quoted me over $500 to do a timing belt only and it's only an inline 4 cylinder. So what I did was bought an OEM timing belt from ebay for $50 cheaper than the dealer charges, then had them put the timing belt in while they were changing the headgasket which was warranteed. So I still ended up paying $260 in labor just for them to change the belt, and they were already in there. $675 for that on an LS is a steal!
  2. No, but I took the programming steps that erases all prior remotes and keeps the new one. try this http://www.cureline.net/lex/howtos/howto_k...tm#Programming2 I tried that the first time. No luck!
  3. My uncle's 97 LS keyless entry still will not program. We have tried two different remotes, both with new batteries. The place he bought the car from couldn't even get it to program. Then I tried wandawoods instructions and still no success. We could not find any switch to the the keyless entry on and off. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I am thinking maybe the keyless entry module/reciever might be bad, but it seems unlikely. Also, what is the body module for (#4)? http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...t=4&catalogid=2
  4. Thanks! Yeah, I did copy and save Wanda's instructions already! Didn't try them yet because I already left my uncles house which is an hour away from me!
  5. My uncle just bought a 1997 LS400 that came without a remote. The dealer was gonna give him one, but when they tried to program it, it would not work. So he figured they must have had a busted remote. I found him one on Ebay and tried to program it today. It came with instructions but I too could not get it to work. I got up to the part where you turn the ignition on and off and the car cycles the locks, but after the car cycled the locks, the car did not respond to the following steps where you hold the LOCK button and so forth. The FCC ID# on the remote is HYQ1512P. That's the correct one for a 97, right? I have never had a problem programming a keyless entry remote, so I think the module may be bad. I didn't see any fuses labled for keyless entry, so I doubt it's that. My question is, where is the keyless entry module located? It was too cold to search for it. Anyone know or had a similar problem? Also, I found numerous versions of programming instructions that had a few different steps. I tried them all, but which is the correct programming instructions? Also, I did search and read through every thread that came up on a "keyless entry" search. Thanks!
