  1. :( I must have studied the instructions 10 times and it appeared easy enough. However, I am unsure what kind of connectors I should use to cap the cut wires and splice the 2 wires together. The original post mentioned 3M connectors. What are people using? Where can I buy them? I looked in HomeDepot and Lowe's and cannot find anything I like. Crimp connector would be fine as long as they are sturdy and wouldn't short out. I would like to avoid soldering in the car if I can avoid it. I do not have the cold solder thing. Thanks for the info. CC
  2. Longo will not give me any discount if I elect not to have the radio put in. I guess I will get the radio for free. There is an option of paying $500 upfront for "lifetime" Sirius subscription. This may be an option. I think I get my money back after about 3 years. I hear that the music and songs are sometime not the original singer but repackaged songs. Longo is charging $2500 over invoice on the GS430- I think it come out to $53,900 or so. I can order the exact color I want- they will just order it from Japan.
  3. I am thinking about ordering a GS430 from Longo Lexus here in S. CA. They will put in a Sirius Satellite radio for free. I am not interested in the radio. However, I have a few questions: 1. They say the antenna will be installed behind the rearview mirror. How big is this thing? Will it look funny? 2. I want to do the DVD bypass trick listed in this forum. Will putting in the radio somehow mess with the simple wire cut/splice thing? 3. They will not discount the car if I opt not to put in the satellite radio. I am sure I do not want to pay for the monthly fees after the trial period. Is it worth the trouble getting it installed? any downside? Thanks. CC
  4. Yes, water does leak out after I park my Camry. So I do not think the drain is plugged. I am afraid that mold have already seeded my AC system permanently. :( It smells really bad after I use the AC. I have a theory about why I got infected. I always park my car in a parking garage that is on an incline. The water probably never drains completely during the summer. I just read about a company called AirSept and have e-mailed them some questions. I am glad tha the RX has an interior filter... is the filter located before or after the AC cooling coils?
  5. I am seriously thinking of getting the RX400. My current car is a '95 Camry running perfectly. The only problem I have with the Camry and the main reason my family wants me to get a new car is the bad smell from the air conditioner. I have tried using Lysol spray into the air intake but the smell is there especially after I turn off the AC. I see one post here in the forum about smell coming from AC on the RX400 also. Anyone else with similar problem? Does the RX400 come with replaceable interior air filters for the AC/Vents?
