  1. This has been awhile since I have done this. My previous 04 RX330. When you start the DVD from the NAV menu...you should be able to turn it on the rear screen. You may want to sit in back and see if it comes on when you have it on up front. From there when you start driving the front screen will turn off but the rear should remain on. I never used the remote ever...and I always started the DVD from the front.

  2. Insurance is my business and I can tell you for sure that location makes a huge difference in rates. I love when someone from NY moves to my area I normally cut their rates down by at least 50% with much better coverage as well.

    Now I think it is foolish to pay that much for your car insurance. I am not trying to pick on you but there are much better things you could do with that income-and if you are young? you could be putting that money away.

    If your state offers a state fund you may want to try to obtain insurance there. In MD they have a fund for people in high risk situations and that may help.

    Age breaks are at 21 and 25 with most carriers but until you get your rate down you need to find a independent agent to re-market your auto policy for you every 6 months. If you were only in MD, VA, or DE I would love to help you out.

    And thank you for all you do! (Fireman)

  3. The miles wouldn't worry me much...however I only keep cars a few years and trade or sell well before I get too many miles on them. My GX460 has just hit 40,000 miles and I think we are going to keep it maybe for one more year but I am considering getting a extended warranty and just keeping it...since it is the kid hauler! But I guess it is all up to what my tax guy tells me when that time comes! :lol: I know many people that have 200k + on theirs.

  4. Just found out that my DVD screen (roof mounted) is also not working. So I am assuming the problem is with something the Nav system and DVD screen share in common.

    Any idea what this might be?

    Have you checked your fuses? Kind of strange they would both be out.

  5. Yes, when I speak of JD and CR reporting, I'm referring to data about quality they collect from actual owners (not reviews). And Lexus consistently scores at top or near top for attributes related to quality. Generally premium car buyers are not buying strippos.

    But I know what you are saying about gap in interior quality almost gone ( or greatly narrowed) between common premium cars and loaded top trim level other cars.

    I knew what you meant! :) :lol::cheers:

  6. I hear you. But as I said this was a new loaner I think 2000 miles maybe. The cars JD and CR report on obviously have premium packages. This one must have been a base model. It was jnot impressive at all. I am a Lexus fan but I wasn't a fan of that car.
