i had a 99 LX470 and had the same problems. i got "error" second day i had my brand new car!!!!!!!! it got replaced under warranty. however, it happened to me again when i traded in my 99 470 for the newer 2003 LX470. the dealer had removed my cd's and told me it was because i used burned cd's. apparently, the nakamichi system is very anal when it comes to using cd's that are burned due to difference in the thickness of the cd. i was told you're only allowed to use cd's bought from stores on the nakamichi in-dash changer and not self-burned cd's. hope this helps. the newer 2003 lx470 solved this problem by using a magazine instead of in-dash, which i find much user friendly. the in-dash takes a long time to load and switch between cd's.

i had this problem with my toyota previa, my '94 landcruiser and my '99 LX470. this seems to be a recurring problem that seems to pop up on alot of toyota/lexus. the dealer coudlnt fix my problem with the previa or the landcruiser (serviced at lexus). however, problem was fixed with my '99 LX470. hasn't happened yet with my 2003 LX470 but i wouldnt be surprised if it starts to happen. i've had experience with steering wheel vibrating when braking at high speeds, a problem i've noticed with all my previous toyota/lexus.

i was surfing online and came across this lexus forum. i was so shocked! a pic of my car is posted so i decided to register and share my happiness. i have a 2003 LX470 and the H1 low beam output is just poor! i had a 1999 LX470 and they were poor as well. so, i upgraded with CATZ 4500K HID kit. it's AWESOME! SO HOT!!!! i get ALOT of compliments from people in the parking lot and get alot of stares and turning heads. not everday you see a LX470 with HIDs! haha. :D in seriousness, HIDs makes driving at night a whole new experience. the CATZ HID kit is excellent quality. JDM! i recommend http://www.liteswap.com . that's where i purchsed my kit, awesome customer service. i have installed 3 of their HID kits thus far and have no problems whatsoever with them so far and very pleased with each of them. Mercedes S-class, LX470 and Prelude. ;)

i have a 2003 LX470 too.....low beams are H1 size bulbs. the low beam output is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! so, i replaced my low beams with CATZ 4500K HID kit! :D it's awesome!!!! make driving at night SOOOOOOOOO different. check out http://www.liteswap.com . they have awesome customer service, i highly recommend them! i've installed 3 of their HID kits, they are in my opinion VERY VERY high quality.
