Remove instrument pannel from dash change all small silver caps on both CKT.boards resolder as many of the solder eyes as you can around tach. that should solve your problem.

You may have put them in upsidedown

The problem is the solder eyes on power supply boards on the back of the dash console. remove the dash change all the small silver caps on both ckt. boards and resolder as many of the eyes as you can this will solve your problem.

Had a problem with tach, removed instrument pannel changed all small can caps on both ckt. boards also resoldered eyes . Eyes are little solder spots on the board where the electrical connections from one side of the board connect to the other side of the board . Sometimes the eyes break loose and lose connection. Also replaceing the caps will avoid problems with dash lights and radio and A/C console lights going out havent had a problem since. Knock on wood!

Sounds like your fuel pump or fuel filter is bad , when the gears shift to second gear and your RPM's do not increse your engin is not responding . :cries:
