  1. It may just be a question of sanity.....choices, choices.......have you ever purchased a car before? Just get a gs400. I bought my gs400 1999 6 months ago for $16,000. It has 84,000 miles now and drives/looks like a brand new car. Why blow $10,000 extra?
  2. In Dallas GS400 are very hard to find especially in black. I just bought an 84,000 mile one in immaculate condition for $16,900, it already had the 90,000 mile service done, brand new tires, new ball joints, redone suspension at 60,000 miles, borla exhaust, and aftermarket xenon lights. It also has some rock chips. I think you should be able to sell it on ebay with a no reserve auction for a few thousand more than 12k, but maybe I overpaid. Black GS400's last about 2 weeks at most in the Dallas market.
  3. I had the same problem with my steering wheel ONLY at 55mph, turns out my front two tires are "feathered" as in they have uneven wear, not sure how it happened but the tires came with the car and are brand new, so I am just dealing with it. Check for uneven wear in your tires. The tires are wider than the recommended size.
  4. You are all nuts! Here is my reply to another 90k service post I just bought a used GS400 with 84,000 and had all the things you mentioned done including ballancing and rotating the tires and tightening up a few things making noise before I bought the car. I got new platinum spark plugs in addition. They did it in a day so no loaner car and no free floor mats. But it cost me $380. It was done by some nice mexican men at a shop, no latte, no flat screen tv, no free donuts, but hey I can visit the Lexus dealership and steal all that stuff anyday. Man don't you realize most dealerships even nice friendly Lexus ones are rip-offs, don't feed the beast! I mean I have no mechanical ability whatsoever, but this stuff isn't rocket science, anyone with experience can work on these Lexus GS cars. I bet the Toyota dealership is even cheaper if you must go to a dealership.
  5. BTW the Lexus dealers will give you the service history of any Lexus for free, just bust their balls about it.
  6. Yea, I thought that was a good part of having the service done at the dealer. it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling knowing your vehicle was maintained resonably well. ← I just bought a used GS400 with 84,000 and had all the things you mentioned done including ballancing and rotating the tires and tightening up a few things making noise before I bought the car.
