  1. I live in Massachusetts, not exactly a small hick community, and there are NO Verizon bluetooth supported phones yet for the Lexus GS300/430. I find this incredible. I am told by the Lexus dealer that Lexus is going to have an approved bluetooth phone "in the November timeframe" and that I should wait. Surprisingly basic issue to be missed so badly by Lexus
  2. You're not going to like this solution, given the $$$ you (and I) paid, but try turning off the surround sound and fading the sound significantly towards the back (two or even three clicks back on "crossbar" setting). Significantly improved my sound, even though I can't believe there are only two of us commenting on it in these forums.
  3. Full disclosure: No answers for you BUT... I am having same or similar issue. Please see my post from yesterday re: Mark Levinson system. Does this sound like the issue you are experiencing?
  4. This is a repost of a general question I wrote yesterday in the GS300 forum. I just found out that this audio forum existed and I suspect you all will be better tuned in (no pun intended) to my problem: Has anyone had any problems with the Mark Levinson system in this car, or another Lexus? I ponied up some big bucks for the upgraded sound system (as well as Navigation) and the surround sound--even with a CD-- sounds like I have 3 speakers all right in the front... That is.. NO SURROUND EFFECT! I took it to dealer (full disclosure, only had it two weeks) and they even admitted that sitting in back seat sounded great (I made them do it) and that front didnt sound so good. Thus far, they are only telling me to play with the fade (front to back). When my wife first heard it, knowing nothing about my concerns, she said "what the heck to you have on, AM stations?" I am dismayed! Any ideas. Thanks for any feedback.
  5. Thanks, someone else at work suggested I try something similar. Now that I have half my department jumping from my front seat to my back seat in the garage at work, I almost feel like I'm ruining all the fun for them if I find a solution! (Only kidding... really bothering me and based on 5 other people's independent assessment, it's not just me!)
  6. I've played with so many items with the stereo the service tech at Lexus asked if I worked at Tweeter (local hi-end audio store). But thanks for the reply anyway.
  7. The setup is really easy, so there shouldn't be too many issue. Hit AUDIO on buttons to the side then either DSP or SOUND on the screen to set up speakers (left/right/front/back) etc... Everything else is just nuisance at the start. Regarding CDs, just hit the "load button" (once.. sometimes twice) until the red around the opening turns green. Then put Cd in label up. DVDs I dont know. By the way.. would be VERY interested in your opinion of sound. You can see my post earlier, but the sound in my GS300 AWD sounds like all the sound is coming from the dash-- no surround effect at all. Sounds worse than my $100 5.1 surround sound speakers on my PC! I hope u dont have same problem, but would be interested to know.
