  1. I can't get the usb port to consistently read my iPhone content (podcasts). Sometimes it just says there is a problem. Other times it will play them but no content shown. I don't have a problem with BT but that is more limited. Charging does work. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  2. I have a preinstalled hookup for an ipod. No problems with my music showing up on the screen in folders. However, I created a folder for podcasts and it doesn't show up at all on the nav screen. Is there a format that the podcasts need to be in to show up. Thanks. Jim
  3. I assume there is a way to aftermarket an aux type connection so that I could plug in an ipod and/or satellite receiver. I know Lexus wanted a lot of money to do this. Does anyone have a suggestion and (assuming I don't want to pull out the stereo myself) where to get it done. Thanks, Jim
  4. Hi, I have a GS 300 2006. I received a new Sirius portable Stiletto that doesn't get good FM transmitter reception. It has been recommended to use an FM adapter that plugs directly into the "antenna". Has anyone done this on the GS? I am not sure where to start and if I can do it on the ML audio system. Thanks in advance, Jim
  5. I understand from Verizon owners that their phones operate 100% functionality (phonebook transfers, etc) on BMWs. Why isn't there more of an outcry with Lexus. I understand that Verizon has crippled the OPP feature, but if the phones act like they should on a BMW, it seems that Lexus is at fault. Jim
  6. Anyone have a good suggestion for a recharger/fm modulator for the GS 300. I have the "roadtrip" but can't keep it hooked in well based on where the lighter is. Thanks, Jim
  7. Is there a way to have a board/forum marked read each time you visit without having to manually select the drop down item? Thanks, Jim
  8. I know the discussion of verizon and trying to get the phonebook in to the lexus. But once you have it in, isn't it frustrating that you cannot dial a phone book entry while moving? Am I missing something? What good is it if I have to stop the car even to dial a phonebook number? HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Jim
  9. Let me know if it works in the Lexus when you get it. Right now, the voice activation on my phone doesn't work when you use bluetooth, but maybe I need to look into something else. BTW-BMW has a much better user-friendly phone system. Jim: I don't know if this will work in the Lexus (my new Lexus isn't due in for another 3 weeks or so) but I have a excellent workaround in my current BMW. I have Sprint Voice Command (but most carriers have some kind of voice dialing capability). The button on my steering wheel automatically re-dials the last number dialed. The last number that I plug in is "Asterick - Talk." That way, my phone goes directly into Sprint's Voice Command and all I have to do is say the person's name and which number (home, office, or cell) and the phone dials it for me. The names and numbers are added/deleted/changed from my home computer. And, I can just use voice dialing if I want to dial a number that I have not already added to Sprint. A big plus is that, when I am out of my car, I still have the voice dialing capability, including when travelling in other cities. I am anxious to see if this system will work in my new Lexus. Sure beats having to mickey mouse around with entering numbers into the car and/or trying to sync the phone books between the handheld and the car. By the way, no one at BMW seemed to know that the phone in the car would work this way so it is not documented anywhere. The $5 per month for Voice Command is well worth the conveniece. Dr C ←
  10. I know about the problems with Verizon and Lexus. However, I have a question for people who have their phone fully functional. How do you dial a call when in motion? Isn't everything greyed out so that you cannot use address book or dialer (except for one-touch)? I am looking for a workaround for this that won't require rewiring. Thanks, Jim
  11. More frustrating to me is not the lack of push capability on the verizon network, but that I can't use the keypad to dial or use phonebook while in motion. I know the software workaround for the nav system, but can't find one for the phone.
  12. Just asking again if anyone knows how to override the in drive phone disable? I know how to do the NAV system. Thanks, Jim
  13. As of now, my understanding is that you cannot transfer the phonebook from that phone or the new e815 to the lexus (I am in the same predicament). If you go to Howardsforum and search for lexus/bluetooth you will see this. There are some workarounds, but they appear to be to buy a cheap treo or like bluetooth pda and put your address book in to the car that way and then you can use the 710.
  14. Anyone find the override for the phone to work while moving?
  15. Now, if I can only find the override for the entering phone numbers :)
