  1. This sounds like a no brainer, but before I break anything, I hope to get some feedback. I'm replacing the batteries in the keys for my 94 GS300. Those are the keys with the remote button on the side. I'm able to unscrew the little screw and pry the two halves appart a little, but then the other ends stay conected. I can't seem to slide them in any direction. I hesitate to pry them apart any further for fear of breaking the plastic. So, how are the ends, opposite from the screw end, attached? Thanks, Jon
  2. bump - Any help from the experts would be appreciated. :)
  3. I wish it was that. No, I was trying to install a replacement dash piece that fits around the shifter. It turned into a disaster. The adhesive on the piece is so strong, that it can't be lifted up once it's put down. It's like super glue. So, you only get one chance. This is very difficult to do because you have to line up the shifter, transmission mode button, and ashtray areas. The other problem was that it wouldn't slide under the ashtray because it was so sticky. I ended up tearing it and ripping some of the leather off of the shifter when it stuck to it by accident. Now I have to replace the replacement shifter surround piece and find a new shifter cover. I don't think I will try the do-it-yourself adhesive surround piece again. I'll try to find a junkyard piece, or maybe a shop that does it. In summary, what was supposed to be a $50 job is turning into a lot more.
  4. Part of the leather on my shifter ripped off. :cries: It's a 1994 GS 300 w/ automatic trans (it has the OD button). Can the leather be recovered easily, or is a complete replacement shifter available, or ??? Thanks for your help!
  5. I bought one from www.nycdashes.com. The diagram looks the same as the one on http://www.veneerz.com. I wonder if they are different. It looked like an easy install, but it was a total disaster. The adhesive on the piece is so strong, that it can't be lifted up once it's put down. So, you only get one shot to line it up. This is very difficult to do. The other problem was that it wouldn't slide under the ashtray because it was so sticky. I ended up tearing it and ripping some of the leather off of the shifter when it stuck to it by accident. So now I have to replace the replacement piece and find a new shifter cover. So my questions are: 1) what was the secret to your success in installing the replacement piece from http://www.veneerz.com/shop.php?sho...el_years_id=124? 2) Anyone know where I can find a replacement shift cover and how hard are they to install? Thanks!
