Guys i was having a lot of trouble with my 0 to 60 , i was doing high 13's , well i took my throtle body off, and cleaned it had , god is my witness at least 4mm of gunk on the plate, i cleaned it and word of advise the little vacumm holes get pluged cleaned with a paper clip and spray some carb cleaner . DROPED A WHOLE SECOND no kidding , now doing low 12's , i still think my cat's are blocked, well anyways my tps was out off aligment so i adjusted it to factory specs, my tach was reading 200 rpms now its 400 , but i think my needle may be bad cause when its off it drops to the bottom , thats normal but when ignition on it doesnt come to the zero mark it just hangs under the zero , the same space betwen the marks of the tach , u know like form 200 to 400 to 600. I dont know if its normal , someone could help me with that . Lexls Brother thanks for your webpage its been a life saver. Another thing in my country we dont have emission controls so i was wondering since my cats may be blocked how would i go about gutting them or doing something to remove them and not get a cel.   2. i was looking at other thread and heard everyone could red line, but mine wont go pas 4200 or 4300 in gears and o to 60 mph is 13 secs , so i try reving it up in park and wont go pass 5200 could it be that the ecu is in safe mode i have no CEL. How can i check the codes. I have a 1991 ls400.
  3. Nope just the iac , but every time i try to get the codes by jumping e1 and tc , it just flashes the srs antilocks and cruise , but no cel falsh.
  4. THanks for the input, ijust got in from checking the wires all of them are within spec lower then 25kohm the highest one was at 14kohm. im gonna check the compression in tomorrow and the cats.
  5. When i try to jump the E1 and Tc under the dashboard to get the dtc , i get a constant blinking from the srs, cruise control and antilock light but no check engine light. i have a 91 ls400
  6. PUt in a brand new one and stil the same thing , i've never touch the tps and dont want to ...help Sorry forgot its a 91 ls400
  7. I have a 91 ls400 and heres what i got so far 0-60mph = 13 secs i get 80 mph on second gear and te revs never go past 4500 even at full throtle any thogts....
  8. Guys i cleaned and change the bearings on my ISC now i have a very low idle around 400 and 300 do i need to adjust my tps?

  10. Hey guys , long time dont log in but always keep an eye on the forum. I was having a real hard time with my idle ,so i found out it was the IAC , but couldnt really afford a new one at the time so i decide it to apply a temporary fix, and put a little peace of plastic tubing on the inlet hose and try to set it as close to 650 as possible. Well that was done till i got the time to take it out and clean it and change the bearings ,they were turn to s..... The Problem now is that my rpm dont go higher then 400 and my iac is working as a new one what gives... do i need to disconect the battery for a reset or something and also when i try to jump the dlc to get the codes it just blinks continuasly (check engine and the o/d light) any thoughts

  12. Hey Guys , i need some input , i need the schematics for the drivers seat. my lumbar is dead not working at all, i took the seat out and checked the motor apply 12v it work perfectly , im suspecting wiring or faulty switch, please help...
  13. My luck as always sucks.... Well as i said before , i found a leak in the engine block , got it fixed, everything is great right .... WRONG I took a trip , about 30 miles down the trip, it started to overheat ,not much but enough for me to concern, i stop check the coolant everythihng is fine, i keep going ,like an hour in the road i had to stop car almost in red, turn it off , pop the hood water is bubling back to the reservoir, let it cool down , got my 17 and unscrew the filler nut filled it up ,WAS ALMOST OUT OF WATER, took almost 2 gallons of water . continued my trip on my way home had to stop almost every 30 miles , for it to cool down i was doing like 60mph and about 1200 rpms the whole way , there were times when he wanted to overheat and i just let off the gas and it would go down, sometimes not that lucky, good part about all this is that i drove my car today ran all my duties, no overheting , just went up a notch in a jam at noon with ac at foll. Advise?
  14. Problem solved , thanks guys for the help... THe problem was a leak in the block, right next to the driver side header , got it solder , rides like a dream no more overheating yeiiiiiiiiiiii. My Iac was bad so my mechanic , made a very ingenious air difuser , that kept the revs just at 700 rpm , Another problem solved for now... Right now im getting something strange when i floored it and it hits 4000 rpm with the ect in norm and o/d on, it lags for like a second and then shifts. What can it be?
  15. Here i go .. 91' ls 400 60k . Dlc gave me code 24 ... ?and waht to do ? Next it's overheating. Here is the description. 1. Fans are allright , go on at full, med , low speed. 2. No white smoke. 3. No oil in the coolant reservoir. 4.No coolant in the block. 5. No bubbles in the reservoir . 6.Hoses and cap are hot, water circulating. 7. Overflows coolant when overheats. 8.steam is coming out all over the front driver side. What gives?
