THanks sapper ,great info, according to lexls my cluster is different. to yours mine is a 92 and the cluster use different caps, It's not a big deal to have my tach needle blacked out , but it does bother me a little , ill just have to wait and dedicate some time to the board , cause everything else in the cluster is fine , i guess is the infamous conductive paint in the back of the needle. Then again i have the no power after 4000 issue that i want to resolve , alot people keep saying that if the car runs fine why worrie, And i say cause i payed for v8 and im expecting a v8 , if i would wanted " a just fine car"i would stock with my jetta....

I read somewhere that the needles actually loose the "glue' that holdem together and star to slip". since everything checked out , the tps, the isc , and i had a steady idle no jerking no hesitation , and my voltage reading on the alternator wass above 13.7 , so i figired it was somthing wrong with the needle , so one day the sun was hitting the dash directly and i saw my needle way down , and when i turn the ignition i saw it go up till 2 bars before the zero, and i sais this isnt right . so started looking for dash pictures and i saw that the needles actually rested on the zero bar not below , so i asked you guys \ thanks for the reply sapper , another thing have u figured out a way of fixing the burnt out needle in the tach
  3. Thanks sapper_daddy, my tach actually rides lower , thats way i was getting wrong idle reading, thinking my idle was off, and the culprit was the needle, knowing this earlier would have save me a lot of time with tps, tb and ecu checking.....

  6. Hey guys does your tach needle lie on the zero mark or lower, do both the speedo and tach lie on the zero mark with ign off.? ;) ;)

  9. nope all of the pulleys move freely, , although the idler pulley did move freely it didnt look quite right i turned it and felt unblanced like it was wabbling back and for not much, but enouh for me to notice
  10. Guys i honestly havent had any luck mith this car, My drive belt started squeeking and all of a sudden slipped off the pullys , and all my lights went on . I checked and my drive belt is new not even one crack on the ribs. What gives?

  12. guys as you know i have a small problem im not getting any power after 3500 or so rpms, i think it might be coil related , ive checked everything from cats to sparkplugs , but today happend something strange i floored my car and kept looking at my tach and when it reached 4000 it started to flick like going down an up but very fast , like if the rpms where going from 3800 to 4000 and back to 3800 , i think i mightbe running rich but im not getting any blacksmoke, it just that the car reving but its not delivering power , i have no missfires no hesitations it just keeps reving till like 4000 then it just stays there screaming but no power like if its missing a cylinder BUT NO MISSFIRES. COult be coil , pressure regulator, or coolant temperature sensor. Also low idle like 200 , Ls400 91 . Any suggestions.
  13. Just a thought , try unplugging the sub and playing if it cuts, you mght try with a different sub if that doesnt help check the wiring for the sub...

Hey guys wish you the best for 2006 As you all know i have a slow 0 to 60 time, but as many have stated sometimes is a combination of factors not just one, so in my journey to find my problems i found that one of my resonators wasnt oem in fact it was one of those restrictve resonators that use a plate in the midle, i repolaced it ,now my car is responding a little better i think it just needs some time to get use to the new flow Well its not much but i hope it can help someone... peace

Sorry for the topic name i made a mistake , my idle is really low as u know form all my posts (Sorry), and i try to adjusted according to the toyota specs, but it still low when i try to adjusted manually it stays on 650 but when i shift to "D" it doesnt shift that smooth its like it launches forward ... Any comments is a ls400 91

  17. Hey Guys i have a couple questions? How many cats do an ls400 1991 have? And second if my cats are clocked wouldnt i have a cel from the subs who are the ones who check the cats performnace?
  18. THanks bro, ur probably right , its not worth it , its just that i have no power afetr 3500 and thought it could be th cats , since im not getting any cel or stored codes in the ecu. Well thanks anyway , ill keep looking for the problem

Thanks Guys , Sk if the main ones make an algorithm that the cats is suppose to flaten , and the sub checked on it , im assuning that they depend on each other, i mean if the mains are bad they could trigger a cel for the Sub ore the other way around, since i dont have any cel , im not gonna worry about it. Another thing , what do you think about my plam of leaving the subs, disconnecting them under the carpeting and apllying the resistor right there on the ecu side of the plug ,, does anyone know the values of the resistence parameters on the SUBS not the main.   20. THanks Dcfish , you think it might be transmission related, cause she shifts very smooth when gentle, it's when i floor it that she hesitates to shift. Like for Example: I step on it from a dead stop, it revs till 4000 or somthing shifts to second when it reaches 4200 or so it stops reving i mean literally the engine stops reving even though im on the throtle , is like she doesnt have more power and just stays there i have to let go a bit for it to shift to 3rd. THen again i posted earlier that im getting the same 0-60 time with a little more then 1/2 throtle as with full throtle , so for me its engine related not tranny , But I Appreciate the advise and ill do it this weekend . i cleaned TB, TPS is fine iac is fine wires distributor caps , since im on vacation ill check the 02s and the cats THanks Bro .. Well , this problem just wont leave me have a peaceful crhistmas , i took it for a ride , i found that the problem is when i floor it , if im gentle on the throtle the car would accelarte just fine and you can feel the power until 3500 but after that it just keeps reving but with no power. Shiftys smooth and natural but when floored the transmision hangs like if it is waiting for more power to shift i have to let go of the throtle for it to shift . By the way wires within specs , tps fine, isc fine , tb cleaned ,could it be the cats that are blocked\ 1991 ls400

JAJAJA Thanks guys for th response, Grandls to your question i dont need a step by step on gutting i meant if there was a way of cheting the ecu or is there something i need to do to o2 so i dot get a cel , cause i heard somewhere that if i gutt the cat i'll get a cel cause of the sub sensor. And Bartkat i'm cat lover too bro .....happy new year
  23. Guys since i live in a country where theres no emission controls, could i gut my cats since i think there blocked and not get a cel. Does someone have a step by step proccedure. I have a 91 ls400
  24. I have 91 ls400 i live in Dominican Republic , i dont use this car for 1/4 mile runs , i usually drive pretty genrtle but if im not doing 0-60 times within the factory specs is beacuse i have problem and i dont like problems :cries:
  25. THanks gssoldier good to know, but still im not getting power after 3000 may be a blocked cat , the engine is screaming but no power.
