When I press down on the gas and the car goes above a certain speed and/or rpm... the ABS light turns on and the battery light starts blinking.... they turn off when I slow down.... any1 know what the problem here is? (it's not even that high of speed or rpm.... I'd say about 80mph or 5000 rpm)

lol well its not like its a new car or anything.. its a 92... and i paid for half... but ya my parents did hook it up with the other half... I used to drive my mom's 300E... but this is the 1st car I actually own... and I'm lovin it so far.. it drives hella smooth

my trunk when i open it... i have to hold it up otherwise it will just "fall" down. what do i need 2 do 2 fix this annoyance?

lol sorry man im a newbie. i just barely got my license recently and this is the 1st car i own.

so lets say im at a redlight and this car is next to me. how would i b able to get the fastest takeoff and accelerate faster (WITHOUT MESSING UP MY TRANSMISSION haha)????

ok i dont know ANYTHING about cars especially none of that downshifting i always hear about. if someone could explain what downshifting is.... also is there a difference between the pwr/etc? lol would this be good for when i wanna race someone? but i do want to know if its only safe to press the pwr and/or etc button when the car is stopped, or can it be pressed while the car is driving?

u know that little switch next to the parking brake... what is it for? do u guys ever use the function for anything?

has any1 been able to find one for our SC's? i really wanna install a single DIN cd player but am hesitant to do so until i can find one of these

well i do need an alignment at the moment but id like to find 1 mechanic that i can take it to in case any thing goes wrong with the car.

yeah thats probably a bit too far. i was thinking somewhere in the valley or right outside the valley maybe.

i do have the popup part of the lighter and no it doesnt heat up. and when i put my fone charger in there it doesnt work either. and its not the fuse cuz i just changed that and it made the AC work again. so it has to be the lighter itself. i dont have a volt meter, and im not very handy. when i look inside i dont really see any damage but once again... there was a penny stuck in there and i used a pen to take it out. maybe thats how i messed it up. so my guess is i would probably need to replace the metal part on the inside of that. i hope this wont cost much although its not really that big of a deal. i dont smoke anyways but i just dont like things not working.

you were right! that fuse was blown and i replaced it and now the AC is working again. thanx a lot man. BUT the weird thing is that the cigarette lighter still doesnt work... i think that has to do with the penny being in there and using the pen to get it out.... probably messed it up somehow.... is that easily replaceable?

I just checked the owner's manual... and it has this info for the fuses No.2 = HTR = 10 ampere = air conditioner systerm, rear window defogger No.10 = CIG=15 ampere= cigarette lighter, theft deterrent system, shift lock system, SRS airbag system, instrument panel lights Should I replace both of those fuses?

any of you people in the L.A. area take your car to specific shops? I used to drive a Merz 300E so I would always take it to this guy who only worked on mercedez... but now that I have the SC300 I have no clue where to take my car. I don't wanna take it to someone who doesnt know what he's doing.. and I don't wanna get ripped off. Any suggestions? I live in the San fernando valley by the way.

also... the cigarette lighter thing... that doesnt work either... and that worked a few days ago as well... i would charge my fone in the car and today that didnt work either... i think my little sister got a penny stuck in there and used a pen to take the penny out. do i have to get a new one of those?

My AC has worked perfectly fine since I got the car like a month ago.... I drove it a few days ago and the AC was working... and the car had been parked in front of my house since then... and today I get into the car, and the AC doesn't turn on... none of the buttons do anything when I press them... the display is blank, the buttons don't light up... nothing happens. The radio works fine and the display is showing everything fine... but right above it the AC display is just blank and it just wont work. What could have caused this? Any lil things I can do myself to try and fix this???

1991 Mercedes 300E... that was my 1st car.... the 92 SC300 is my second car. I'm happy with it except for the fact that I want to install a cd player but am worried about the empty space cuz of the 2.5 DIN slot stock piece of crap

yea go with smooth plastic... since everything else is "smooth"

see I was thinking that's what would happen.... but there has to be people who have aftermarket cd players, with a nice look...

for those of you who have installed an aftermarket cd player... what did you do about the extra space since our stocks were 2.5 DINs? install/mounting kit? filled the extra space with some accessories?
