  1. 1999 AWD RX300 163,000 miles. Runs like it's only a few years old!
  2. I think the dealer's quote was for a brand new arm rest piece. I doubt they would have repaired my existing one. I haven't thought about using an upholstery shop. Thanks!
  3. I think the buttons started out red, but have oxidized with age and have faded to pink. The seatbelt release buttons on my Mazda Miata have faded to the exact same shade. The only solution would be a soft Dremel tool bit and some paint polish (mildly abrasive). But I seriously don't think it's worth the effort.
  4. My driver's side tan leather arm rest on my RX300 is starting to show wear after 6 years. The constant pressure of my elbow has cracked it up pretty bad. I asked the dealer how much it would be for a replacement - $435!!!! Just for a 10 inch leather arm rest. Does anyone know of a specific place I can get it cheaper? I'm always on the lookout on Ebay for these, but never see them. And I believe the Toyota Highlander has different seat colors than Lexus.
  5. My 1999 RX300 AWD has 168,000 miles on it and the transmission is still working perfectly. I have read stories about the tranny's going bad, but they can't possibly ALL be faulty. Would you rather take your chances with a Jeep's notorious rear end, or the ongoing reliability of a Chevy, Ford, or Dodge? HA!! I love the RX300 and until it gives me problems I will continue to love it.
