  1. i looked and looked and looked, and have not been able to find a used navi system to put into my car. im gonna say next to impossible to find. and if the car comes with nakamichi it will be an even larger chore to do all the wiring, as the nakamichi wasnt available as an option with the navi. all in all i would say that if your looking for lexus original part, and in good condition, its not gonna happen. sorry to steal your thunder bro.
  2. just wondering if anyone has replaced their HID bulbs. either with lexus bulbs or aftermarket. also, if you have gone aftermaket, any opinions on 4300K, 6000K, 6500K, 8000K???? i know that 4300K puts out the most useable light, and that 8000 is really bright but not useable, but i was thinking of going somewhere in the middle like 6000K let me know what you guys think
  3. imho i think that is one of the lamest gs400s i have seen. i mean it looks like an entire forest was cut down for all that wood grain, and the skulls painted on the engine cover. i think its tacky and tasteless but i guess at the end of the day its still a lexus, im just saying i think its nasty :whistles:
  4. i agree about the no nonsense sporty. and yea im looking at dropping it probably like 1.3 or more???? i havent really thought that far ahead.....it kinda sounds like tein cs coilovers will be my best bet
  5. i guess the links didnt work so ill try this again 19s----- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=43959 20s----- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=43960
  6. well im stuck as to what to do so im gonna hit the forum and get some opinions. it has come time to replace the tires on my gs400. it has the 17" wheels and the tires are almost dead. i know i will need to replace them in the next few months. the problem im having is deciding if i should upgrade the rims and tires, or if i should just replace the tires on the existing 17" wheels. i think its safe to assume that i will be choosing the second, unless any enexpected financial obligations come up. now onto another problem is rim style. i am torn between 2 rims. one is a 20" staggered setup and the other is a 19"staggered setup. the 20" wheel being a traditional 5 spoke design and the 19" being more of a mesh style. here are links to the 2 rims and all the info. 20"---- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=43960 i like the look of the mesh wheel on some cars, but i think the 5 spoke is classic and looks stellar on the gs. just kinda looking for opinions and thoughts as to what people have or have seen, or who know about others that have one style or the other, or what they have seen and liked, etc etc etc. this is gonna be a big purchase for me so i wanna make sure im 1000% happy and make the right decision. all replies greatly appreciated. thanks
  7. Umm last time i checked i thought the gs400 did have a V8 B)
  8. i think alot of people forget that there is a difference between cars in US and Canada. Daytime running lights have been standard issue on all cars shipped to canada for a long time, maybe since the mid 1990s. also, any gs300 i looked at in canada had the e-shift and HIDs. i do know that all gs400s had wood trim as a standard option except for the sport edition which had black wood, if im not mistaken. i honestly think that you should go for a gs400. own the flagship. if a gs430 is outta your price range, go with the 400. being from canada and seeing the market, i know that for the most part gs300s sell for approximately the same as gs400s. you will love the V8. i feel like im being un-couthe for bringing this comparison up, but it would be like considering a BMW 330 or an M3. such a huge power difference and the gs400 was the flagship car. 80 HP and 85TQ difference is noticeable. it would just seem to me that you would get bored so fast with the 3.0L of the gs300. sorry if i offended anyone with a gs300, but when i was looking for my gs.....i drove a 400, then drove a 300 and went running back to the 400.
  9. thanks very much.....do you have a website with the step by step.
  10. having the same problem. everyone keeps saying remove the headlights, remove the headlights.....well how exactly do you do this hahahaha....is it really labour intensive. also...does anyone know where i can find a set of these replacement headlights? mehullica had made mention of some "Upgraded headlights" but does that mean going to the stealer and spending $$$$ thanks for helping me out guys
  11. i have been noticing condensation inside my drivers side headlamp recently after it rains or after i wash the car. it seems to go away the next day but it doesnt seem to me to be too good having condensation inside my headlight with the HIDs. has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? any suggestions? i am thinking of removing the headlamp....allowing the condensation to dry, removing the seal around the headlight and put fresh silicone around the edge before changing the headlamp seal. has anyone ever had to remove their headlights? it seems to me like i would have to remove the rad support bracket???? i am sooooo worried that this could end up being an expensive repair. also, does anyone know where i could get a replacement set of headlamps(w\ HID). i have seen them on ebay but i think you need to be weary of ebay. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. thanks guys for helping me out. what i mean when i talk about ride quality is somewhat hard to explain. hmm....i want it still to be smooth and not jumpy? i mean alll lexus' are known for their ride quality and smoothness. i just dont want it to feel like i am fighting the car when i drive it? does that make sense to anyone? i realise that i will have to sacrifice ride quality somewhat with the new rims. interior noise will be higher and i feel imperfections in the road more. i do know what you mean tho NEO when you say that the 16s are buttery. i have the 16' es300 rims for my winter rims and it feels like you said,,,butter. i was also wondering if the car will feel a bit sluggish with the 19s as there is more rolling diameter? thanks to everyone for helping me
  13. I have noticed the rubber on my factory 17s is getting old and am looking at going to a 19" setup..... 19 x 8 fr/19 x 9.5 rear...... the question that i have is wether or not the ride quality will absolutely go to garbage. i know this topic has probably been covered but i am just wanting to make sure that i do the right thing and am not going to be out of pocket lots of $$$ and not be happy. the reason i am asking is because, my old car (BMW 325is) i put 18 x 8.5 HARTGE all around and was not tooo happy with the ride quality. i mean it wasnt too bad but it kinda felt like it pulled a little bit during deceleration and especially on rougher roads i noticed it, and when you order rims from germany and your not too happy it sucks :chairshot: i realize that 19 is an entirely different scenario tho. will the ride quality be saved a little as i am going with the staggered approach....would it be within my best interest to invest in a set of sway bars to help tighten everything? if i upgrade to the L-Tuned S/S combo, would that help the ride quality? Im not looking at taking my car into autocross events so handling is not my top priority. at the same time, i dont want my car to feel like a TAXI. i think i want it to sit a little lower and maintain a comfortable yet sporty ride quality to the car. if you guys out there with your knowledge could help me out that would be key. thanks.....
  14. I Have the same kind of problem. im thinking of getting my rotors cleaned maybe???
  15. Im 19 and bought mine on my line of credit. so basically all i have to pay are the interest payments on the ammount outstanding, which (if all the money is being used) works out to about $165 Canadian.....or about $100 USD
