  1. Just saw your post, so I hope this is in time to help. First changing your tires is always a good idea and the brakes will have no effect on your tires - only alignment does that. Second, the brake calipers are solid and if one is broken it must be replaced, but I have a hard time believing anyone could break one with normal driving. 70,000 miles on these cars is nothing and I drive 100,000 before replacing the rear brake pads ( I have two of these and have driven 325,000 miles combined Third, the brake sensor just clips on. It is quite simple and cheap. It works by wearing through the end when the brakes get too far worn down and once it goes off it must be replaced. Should be about $20 and again - it just clips on. Hope this helps.
  2. I replaced all 4 on my 2005 a few years back - KYB Excel G shocks are excellent replacements (the one I took out were KYB, but not sure of model #) Just be sure to replace all the rubber while you are in there!
