  1. what is the biggest speaker that someone has put in their rear doors without making a special mold...
  2. I was wondering what size speakers, Nakamichi or aftermarket, you guys have "easily" put in your rear doors for the old school LS400's. I was wondering if you had any favorite aftermarket speakers, or what size Nakamichi speakers anyone has tried out. My rear left Nakamichi has blown out, and I'm trying to see which speakers to put in... thanks for ur time, Gaz
  3. I'm having the same issues. When I have my car in ACC though, the TRAC light will go on or off, depending if I have the button pushed in. But when I start the car, the light stays on indefinitely...
  4. I'm sorry, what does CL mean? Also, why would you not recommend using it? My dumb a$$ just went out and bought a big bottle of it, but was wondering why hand cleaner with pumice, that's the stuff that you use to "gently" scrape your skin correct?, would work great. I saw pictures on that site, which showed before and after pictures, and they came out really nice though. Thanks for looking into this for me though...
  5. Hey guys, I"m a newbie and was at work over the week and found a website where there was a step by step guide for cleaning out ur interior using Fast Orange pumice cleaner. I can't seem to find it anymore, and now that it's the weekend, I don't wanna eff up my new interior. Has anyone out there used this product? Or does anyone know what I am talking about? The website looked just like Lexus LS, but it wasn't it. Thanks in advance for ur time, Gaz
  6. Stupid question, but should I connect E1 from the picture on the left to E1 from the picture on the right and Tc from the picture on the left to Tc from the picture on the right, or connect TC to E1? Thanks a lot for replying back to me, Im gonna start work on this tomorrow.
  7. Does anyone know how to even open the interior dome light assembly? I'm at work right now, but I guess you would just slide a flat head screwdriver around the edges?
  8. Hey guys, I just got my used 91 LS400 and got it parked in the garage so that I can work on it, untill i sell my current car. Anyways, a couple of things I've noticed, and you guys will probably laugh at this, but I was wondering if you have any information/tips: It seems as if I have a light on my cluster indicating something is up with my rear brake lights, but they all seem to light up fine. I did a search on this forum and it seems that the light might be fine but that it needs to be adjusted? I have a TRAC off light on my cluster, but when I hit the TRAC off button by the ashtray, nothing happens. Also, the ashtray doesn't pull out, you need to use a penny to "pry" it open. The Interiror Dome Light does not work at all!!! The right and left passenger "reading" lights do, but the dome will not light up at all. How do you go about even looking at the bulb? I read this: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...or++Dome++light but am not sure how to even attempt to look/replace the bulb. Besides that, I am extremely satisfied with the car. I'm used to driving 4bangers my whole life, and am surprised by the smooth ride on this. Also, the Nakamichi sounds are nice, but I'm gonaa be putting in my Sony MEX-1HD headunit and my 12" JL audio W7 subwoofer and amp. Any thoughts/suggestions for a newbie? Thanks in advance for your time. Gaz
  9. Hey guys, I have gotten all sorts of useful information from this forum, thanks to everyone that has contributed. I wanted to know what size speakers go in the back rear doors of a 91 LS400 that I am looking to buy. I understand that the front doors have enclosures for 4 inch speakers and you could fit in 5.25 inch component speakers, but was not able to find anything about the rear door speaker. I have already seen an excellent guide at http://www.lexls.com/front_speaker.html But still am not sure how to remove the actual door panels. Also, when I try to get a tutorial for the rear speakers, I'm not having any luck. I went to http://www.carstereoremoval.com/htm/stereo...LS40090_94P.htm but I don't want to waste extra money on guides. If anyone has any idea what size speakers fit in the rear doors, please let me know. Also, what aftermarket speakers would you recommend? I have some Boston Acoustics in my current car and they sound perfect. Thanks in advance for your time, Gaz
  10. Thank you SOOOOO much, this is exactly what I needed for now.
  11. Hello guys, A friend of mine owes me $2000 and can't pay me, so I'm buying his 91 LS 400 off of him for $2500. So out the door, I'm getting a 91 LS 400 with 156k miles on it for $4500. The car is in excellent shape and dude has all the reciepts for the work done on it, but I have some questions. First off, how easy/affordable is it to install an aftermarket head unit? I have a Sony MEX-1HD http://store.yahoo.com/hypeaudio/mex1hd.html The headunit is awesome cuz I have all my mp3's on it's hard drive, so I wouldn't need the CD changer. Also, I don't think this car has the Nakamichi speakers, but I will definitely check that out. I was wondering if you recommend gutting out the stock radio and changer. Also, a speaker in the back does not work, so I wanted to get new speakers thrown in all around. Is it possible to have an aftermarket radio installed in a 91 LS 400 and still keep the stock climate control or are they connected? I also have a 4 channel alpine amp and a jl audio amp along with a kick !Removed! 12" JL audio W7 subwoofer, but I guess what i'm worrying about is how to do the install or where to take it around the Chicagoland area. Please, I am open for criticism, so let me know your thoughts. Would you just keep the car stock or pay say a Tweeter to do the install? Thanks in advance for your time, Gaz
