  1. Thanks guys.. it was easy to pop open.. the hardest part was getting those suckers to snap back together. All done though!
  2. I just got my "new to me" Lexus this month. One key fob is already registering that it needs a new battery. Before I pry this fob open (dealer is a 2 hour drive away).. is there a chance I might break it when I try to open it? What should I be careful of? Anything? Thank you. Oh.. and when it starts registering on the dash that it has a low battery.. about how long does one typically last before it's done completely? I know all batteries are different.. just looking for an approximate.
  3. 45 here and I fit the previously stated estimation of buying CPO. Congrats on having no car note. Unfortunately I'm not in that bracket yet. However, my old Ford is paid for and fine for local trips down Main St. Just not best for any longer trips anymore. But I've kept it for the local errands and taking dogs to the vet. I traded in my 09 Mini Cooper and my payments on the 2010 CPO are not drastically higher. Which is really nice for a lot more car.
  4. I did.. And they did mail me one at my request. Along with a copy of the certification inspection pages.
  5. If you weren't several hundred miles away I'd bring mine over! Looks great!
  6. I understand and thank you for the response. If you had had the chance.. how much darker than the 40 would you have gone? Did you get another Lexus?
  7. LexBob2.. can you share pics of how your 40% turned out? I'll be putting aside some money to get mine done and will need to decide how dark to go. I had tint on my mini and it was too dark for my personal preference.. I think it was a 30 or 25. It looked good, but felt it was too dark visually for me. I have the starfire with parchment interior (two tone dash). Thanks so much!
  8. I'm curious how well this will be executed. Will there be upholstery workers in Ky as well? If so, will they have to pass the origami test I've read about: http://www.autoblog.com/2012/07/08/why-it-takes-mad-origami-skills-to-work-as-a-lexus-upholsterer/ I'm also wondering if this will make the models mfg through 2014 in Japan more desirable to those who prefer to purchase CPO. Any thoughts?
  9. Think I found my answer in other posts. The clock is not linked to the Nav System, and that menu option is used in other cars.. just not this one and not hidden.
  10. When you purchased your CPO.. did the dealer give you a certificate? Mine gave me a booklet and it shows I should have a certificate. However, the dealer says "it's in the system and I don't need one". I've still asked them to send me one for my own peace of mind and paperwork, but I'm curious if other dealers are giving the same information that it's not needed and is "in the system".
  11. I know I'm reviving an old thread.. but to clarify for the newb here.. So, the Nav Option of DST does nothing if you enable it, correct? Is the option there simply for one of the more costly models that actually use it? Or is it a manufacturer menu item on the Nav System that Lexus just didn't implement into their cars and were unable to hide the menu?
  12. GapWedge.. I checked.. the car has new Michelin Primacy on there already.. looks like I'm set for a while there! I also took the car over to a friend who has a nice auto shop locally and he hooked it up to the diagnostic computer and looked it over to see if there was anything I needed to be sure and report while under warranty.. he said it looked good and I got a good deal! Visited another friend who used to do detail work and he pointed me in the right direction of what I need to do to maintain the leather and finish. So happy!
  13. CPO is how I just got my 2010 this week and am happy so far. They kept trying to sell me the extended warranty on top of the 3/100 but it just did not seem to be a smart move to me for the cost of it. I've read others on here have felt the same. Is that still the general feeling?
  14. It has Michelin on their now. I will double check the model and definitely look into these when needed. Thank you for the feedback!
  15. This one is star fire pearl white with parchment interior and two tone dash. I'm in love with it at the moment. Traded in my 2009 mini cooper. This one is a 2010 with only 29k miles and the certified 3 year/100k warranty. I feel like I just got a brand new car. It's most certainly the nicest I've car I've had. Thank you for the kind welcome. I've been pouring over my manuals and will keep doing so through the forum posts as well.
