I had this same problem and found the DisplayOff image only displays when you turn the display off, not each time you turn the car off.

The Android Carista app will read and change the settings on a Lexus. The site gives a few choices for ELM327-compatible Bluetooth devices. I have used the hardware and app to read and email to myself all of the available settings on our 2014 RX350. The app discovers all available settings on each vehicle not just those documented by Lexus. To change settings you need to purchase the app for $10.00 which I have not done.
