LexLS400

My dad, who has a 93 LS400, was talking to a guy where he works about making his car faster. The guy, who has decent knowledge about most cars, suggested changing the gear ratio of his Lexus. He said there could be more power with somewhat less mileage (no prob). Has anyone played with this idea? It at least sounds promising...

I dropped the K&N filter in my dad's 93 LS400, he noticed no difference. I don't have a Lex, so I wouldn't be expecting much w/o more work, but I know that you can do more. I have been looking at engine mods, since my dad is interested in more power. The Japenese mods on the Toyota Soarer engine look to be interesting. Example (from June Super Street magazine, June 2003): '99 Toyota Soarer; HKS cams, Metal Flow intake, exhaust manifold, cam gear, ignition, spark plugs, GT30 Pro S turbo, and Type R intercooler, Yashio 3-layer radiator, T&E Legerfort titanium muffler, Toyota 540cc fuel injectors, Sard fuel injector, Bosch fuel pump... Anybody ever thought about stuff like this?

Hmmm. I am on here for my dad's Lex. But I have a 99 Altima. Are these pics from an Altima with tailights from a 350z/G35? Or is it not an Altima?

My dad is looking for new tires for his 93 LS400. He wants to go with 235/60/R16. He also wants to go with the Dunlop SP Sport A2's. They are $91 each on tirerack.com. What do you guys think of the size and brand he wants?
