  1. 1. Use only genuine Toyota pads and rotors.

    2. Become a calmer, gentler driver who avoids abrupt stops and who turns off the overdrive or uses lower gears to control vehicle speed on long downgrades.

    3. Buy a torque wrench and check/adjust the wheel nut torque every time the wheels are removed for any reason. Many shops overtorque the nuts or torque them unevenly and this can lead to warped rotors.

Very well put. Please torque your wheels down to 80 foot pounds.

  2. So.....Inquiring minds want to know? Yesterday, I ordered a valve lifter part #13751-74020 from Toyota. It arrived today and I got it home and tried to cut it in half with a hacksaw. It was hardened steel and the hacksaw just bounced off of it. Where a hacksaw failed, a bench grinder did the trick, exposing the cross section of the valve lifter. It is one solid machined piece, no hydraulics to it. No matter which way it turned out, its good to know the truth. That means AWJ was correct that the valve needed to be adjusted. I've made an appointment for Monday morning to have that done at Import Auto Service here in Corpus Christi.

    It's called the "bucket".

  3. Weren't you the one that emailed me about the pricing on the spark plugs change? The rearmain seal leaks you will need to fix it as soon as you can. Switch from regular to synthetic doesn't have to do with your leak. Toyota seals are bad about these, Toyota engineers came by the shop to take oil sample and such. The newer seals will be much better.

  4. Please check your power steering reservior. It's dirty and fluid ain't circulate around. Power steering fluid will break down when it reach a certain temp. You also need to flush out your system. Also it wouldn't hurt to check the screen on the rack. If everything is ok.. check the pressure of the pump.

  5. Replaced the sensor on the manufold, and reset the system. Code P1135 is still coming up and just for fun code P0125 has also come up. Does this mean that the sensor after the cat has gone now?

Anyone any suggestion. I will also check the connections I made with the sensor, I bought the after market one from autozone $180, I used the old connector and just spliced into the lines.

So it wasn't a lexus part? And you splice the wire? Why?

  6. This is getting nowhere. Let's close this thread. And "NO" Lex Luther is not on crack. Just ask him about the GTE block and he will tell you hhehhee. You asked a question, we gave you the answer and you are trying to tell us that we are wrong. I might not know everything but enough to work on any lexus and toyota.
