  1. I Own a 91 Ls400 with 132,000 miles. It's the best car I've ever had. I've had it for a year now and I bought it with 119k on it. I finally had the check engine light and trac off lights come on. I researched for days and the common answer was the 02 sensors or the catalytic converter. I took out all 4 sensors and the main ones were ok. The sub sensors however didnt read anything so i replaced them with 2 universal sensors. The sensors I used were 4 wire and the sub were only two wire but when I finished everythhing I checked the capacity on the ohm meter and it registered ok. Thinking everything was finally ok I drove off and the stupid lights came on again!!!!!! I don't see how the catalytic converter can cause the cpu to shut off the traction control. I need help!! Any Ideas?????:wacko:

  2. I recently got an LS400 after my brother wrecked my old Grand Prix. Car of my dreams!! However, the Pontiac was my first car and is sentimental, I'm sure you understand.

the VIN is: 1g2wj14txlf273387 My e-mail is wentaay@yahoo.com Thanks!!

  3. Dude, did you just call your car an appliance? I didn't know that there were similarites between automobiles and refrigerators. Yea I like my beers cold, but a car does a lot more than just keep you warm or cold, it takes you places. Somebody needs to take your Lexus keys from you and give em to somebody who would not treat their car like its a refrigerator.:wacko::wacko::wacko:

  4. The engine was built to take at least 91 octane. Putting in lower than the suggested amount is like giving your car a slap in the face for treating you so well. If you can't afford 93 octane and don't care about your car, DONT BUY a Lexus!! You're putting unnecessary strain on your engine, and you're sacrificing performance. I mean seriously, the LS basically does everything for you, all you do is steer and lightly push the gas and it goes fast. REALLY FAST!! :D :D :D :D

  5. 1991 LS400, tried to close my trunk the other day. IT won't shut. I looked at the hinge thing and it seems to be a bit worn. But I have to fix it ASAP in case of rain. I obviously probably need a new part. However, I can't get the plastic housing off of it. Any suggestions?

  6. The driver's side window was smashed on his car and the alarm didnt go off. When you break into a car and unlock it the alarm is activated. Obviously the person who did it had the key to the car smart guy. Seriously there was a good 5k worth of just electronics in the car. And they knew not to take the GPS unit out. :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot:

  7. To all Lexus Owners in the Indy area. Avoid Tom Wood Lexus. Have had horrible experiences at almost all of their dealerships. They overcharge their customers as well as everyone else. Tried to buy replacement master Keys for my LS and they told me it would cost well over $200 to laser cut them. Called Germain of Naples Lexus. They quoted me at $50. My friend's dad took his one year old Carrera to Tom Wood Porsche to have the seat fixed. They quoted him at about $1,000 and told him that it wasn't covered by warranty!! ANd here's the best part. My buddy lives in New york and had his 2003 IS300 serviced there. Two days later the car was broken into and had the alpine tv/dvd player and 4k worth of aftermarket parts stole. Also caused 11k worth of damage. When they asked if the insurance the covered it, they said no!??!?!?! Shady, shady dealership, beware :chairshot: :chairshot:
