  1. The most common complaint I hear is driver removal. Meaning that the cars are too quiet and you don't get the full driving pleasure and involvement as you do in a BMW. That argument is very accurate in my opinion. A 740IL is much more fun to drive than and LS. I also hate the engineering card. I always say the same thing as you guys. If the engineering is so great then why do they have so many problems?
  2. 2002 Lexus GS430 $10,800 Black Onyx on Beige. NO ACCIDENTS. 139k, ALL HIGHWAY. Completely optioned out. Mark Levinson, Navigation. This is a DEALER MAINTAINED CAR. It needs absolutely nothing. You can take it in to a dealer/mechanic and they will tell you that this a mechanically sound vehicle. New tires and pads in the past few months along with fluid changes throughout. Feel free to call with any questions. 317-658-2234 Please do not contact me asking if certain critical services have been done (ie timing belt) They have.
  3. I've had it for about a year and a half now and I'm very pleased. Very trouble free car. Had to have the AC recharged. Other than that, maintenence as usual! I do miss having more room (LS400), but I guess you an't have everything. The grip is the best thing about this car even though it is damn powerful. Everybody who drives in it or rides in it comments on how sure footed this car is. It gives you a confident feel of the road. I never bought the aftermarket headlamps, although I might do a retrofit projector job some day. And I went with Kimberly :)

  5. I am relisting the following parts. Here's the FYI 1. All prices are firm and non-negotiable. -I took an unbelievable amount of time developing this car and it shows with the condition of all parts. They are all adjusted to be under market value (Feebay, parts stores, etc.). Also, I have mentioned that I am planning on buying another one of these fine automobiles in the future. Therefore, I am in no rush to unload these parts, as I will use them later on the next car. 2. I will accept paypal -Nakamichi factory stereo. In wonderful condition. It has no fading anywhere. My car was garaged and after I bought it it was tinted with 5% and 35% on the windshield, so my interior never had UV attacks. Price set at $125 -Climate control Unit computer. Also in perfect working condition. I installed the updated LCD screen 2 years ago and as stated before, it had virtually no exposure from the sun to damage it. Plus this LCD is said to last longer than the factory one. Price set at $200 -Rear updated Euro tail lights. I love these, they look great with a black LS. These were installed mid '06. Very little wear, all gaskets are there. I might end up hanging on to theses as they seem to be harder to come by these days. Price set at $145 TAIL LIGHTS SOLD That is all. Hopefully this will help somebody out! -Nakamichi factory stereo. In wonderful condition. It has no fading anywhere. 6. I can now see the photos..Thanks a lovely auto. I'll try to private message you now. Overpriced, seat tears, No Nakamichi Either, should be about 1500 less than listing. Good car, lower the price and it should sell
  7. Nice car. Asking price is too high (especially considering it has no nakamichi). You should be able to pull in 7000-7500.
  8. Its on the Thriller DVD. He goes on and on about how well made it is and then destroys it. If you watch closely when hes pushing the buttons you can see the LCD/Clock burned out. LOL, typical. *BLEEP* this dude, if all of these german cars are so great then why do they have so many problems??

  10. I decided on Kimberly. The next LS I buy will be named "black Iris"
  11. My last car was named Veronica. I am naming my black GS430 either Kimberly or Iris.
  12. I only really know of one aftermarket housing that comes with a built in projector and thats the one that I currently have installed. They'll run you about $250 or so but they really feel chintzy compared to the OEM lamps. They do the job though. I wish i had some 430 power.... but i don't so most of upgrades are suspension oriented... if I ever actually get them installed. My gs3 has been named Bertha... idk why i let my ex gf name it. :( .. please pick something better than bertha... although that shouldn't be hard. Just think, if you had a Tundra you could wind up with Bertha and Bubba. :D I have decided to name her Kimberly or Iris. (The EMT that helped me after my accident was named Kim). Im going to start a thread for names. I'm also starting a thread for some of my LS400 parts.
  13. I picked up a 2002 GS430 in black today. I thought about going back to the LS, but it just wouldn't have been the same. So I won't be posting in this section any more. Been great sharing stories with all of you. The LS really is the best of the Lexus line in terms of quality no doubt about it. One day I will buy another one (same year) and be back, just not this time around. Cheers! PS Mark Levinson<Nakamichi
  14. Yea its her replacment. I'm currently brainstorming names.
  15. Picked up a black 02 GS430 today. I was a former LS owner (First generation totalled last week). It just isn't the same! However, this is one serious car. Fast as all hell, and it really feels as solid as a 5 series driving down the freeway. Beautiful car. I've got the stupid blown sub that I'm ordering as we speak. What do you guys suggest as far as upgrades? I do high mileage now so I'm going to stick to the basics. Darker tint, and headlight upgrade. Which aftermarket housings should I get? i want to find a pair with the built in projectors. Im going to upgrade the fogs to HID first. Cheers!

  17. Here are a few pics. It was a black onyx, nakamichi. Paint was in impeccable condition. i detailed it incessantly. I'm looking for a good IS300 or a GS400 to hold me over until I can find another one someday. Best car I ever owned.
  18. 225/55 all terrain. 16"wheels. (SC400)
  19. It is my regret that I have lost my pride and joy. I totalled Veronica this evening. I came around a sharp turn that had a patch of black ice that sent her slightly over to the other lane where a semi trailer was headed straight for me (Shown in background). She took the impact like a champ. Car really is a tank. She had just turned 174k and had a long ways to go. Best car I ever owned, my pride and joy. I am going to find something awesome to replace, but it just won't be the same. RIP Veronica. These will be the last times I look at the wreck, I am going to delete the pictures soon. Gotta remember her for what she was.
  20. I currently Own an LS400 but have moved to the Northeast and am in the market for the IS250 AWD. My yearly mileage is high, so I have ditched my initial plans of getting an audi. I have had an is250 awd for a service loaner many times and I like the cabin, the road feel, and the exterior. I can afford this car used, but I find the price to be a little offensive. 26-30k for a used 06 with 20-50k miles? Seems way to steep for what you're getting at the end of the day. I can get a New one for a fraction more. What do you guys like/dislike about your 250s, and how good is the AWD in the snow?
  21. 172k, 1991. pads changed every 20k roughly. How do you service a caliper?
  22. Has anybody been through this? I have changed my pads regularly. It started out with the front two about a year ago. Now the rear driver side locked up. Just picked it up for the dealer dreading the fourth. The caliper locks up and the pad grinds against the disc as you drive, destroying the brake disc. Luckily, I'd been through it before and took it in right away before this could happen. The service director said he'd seen it occassionaly on the LS and GS.
  23. Looks good. What happened to the hood?
  24. The answer is NO. And if you want a relilable mercedes, look for 1997 and younger. 1998 and above is chrysler cut-corners style. Lots of engine issues.
