  1. I got my book a couple years ago at the parts counter of my Lexus dealer. It is a wonderful coffee table book, bound in soft leather, embossed with a raised logo, called "The Lexus Story" . . . and quite a story it is, too. A great read. 230 pages, with beautiful photos, too. (of course!) Here's a peek preview of it. The Lexus Story.pdf Gary B. 2001 IS300 2006 RX400h
  2. I told everyone on this forum that I would report on mileage on my new (to me) 2006 400h, after my trip from Seattle to Chicago for Thanksgiving 2012 w/relatives. Going to Chicago, we towed a small U-haul trailer with maybe 300-400 lbs. of furniture in it. Trailer weighed 900 lbs. Got about 18-19 MPG on the trip TO Chicago, and this was using non-ethanol gas all the way. Spent more time than I wanted in the cities where we needed gas, hunting down the ethanol free gas. And it was expensive. Coming home, just bought "regular" premium gas with ethanol. For the 1,878 total miles, averaged 25.9 mpg. On the first day of the trip, I tried very hard to keep my foot extremely light on the gas pedal, and tried to get best possible mileage. For 111 miles, I averaged 27.7 mpg, but my thigh muscles were so tired I decided not to keep it up. Surprising how hard it was to NOT press normally on the gas pedal. And I was spending more time watching consumption figures, not enough time watching the road . . . Also, fwiw, had brand new Michellin snow tires put on the car just before the trip. Gary B.
  3. Thanks, Dave . . . good instructions, worked perfect on my '06 RX400h as well. FWIW, I bought a Fram cabin air filter #CF10132 at O'Reilly Auto Parts for the grand price of $18.99. After studying your video, I attacked the glove box, and when ready for the filter, opened the filter box, and voila!, instructions w/pictures from Fram, too! Took me maybe 5 minutes, and the dealer price would have been $62. The new filter is way more substantial than the old one it replaced, too. Gary B.
  4. larrytrk, (or anyone else, too) Do you know where I can download an update for my nav system? Own a 2006 RX400h, now have version 5.1 in the vehicle. Thanks, Garybuyit
