  1. I ordered a key Feb 19th for my GS-300. $47 delivered. Finally got it March 6th. Didn't work. Called Tami Calhoun probably 5 times. Sent 7 emails. No response. No return calls, no return emails. I really got concerned when I called the number beside the charge on my VISA and I got some guy in Florida. He blew me off and said it happens all the time where people call him looking for keys and other issues but he had nothing to do with Tami's company. ??????? I called Visa and they informed me I had been charged $47 a second time which I did not authorize. I had to cancel my credit card for fear of more and more unauthorized charges. Apparently, according to Visa, this is not a cut and dried case. I still have not received credit for anything and it has been a month in dispute. Since I charged it on a business card, they have to pay the merchant and we have to work out the refund afterwards. They don't treat personal cards like they do business cards. I don't want to see any body else get burned like I have been. And by the way, Tami Calhoun actually signed my return receipt from the Post Office??? Sewell did me right.

    Be Aware!

I ordered a key from TOY-LEX and waited 3 weeks understanding that sickness is a bad deal. I finally got it but it will not work and no one will return my phone calls or emails. I've called the Toy-Lex number 5 times, left 5 messages and sent 6 emails. I called the telephone number on my VISA listed beside the $47 charge and it is for East Coast Locksmith in FL at (321) 783-8338 and the guy said the telephone numbers had never been changed. I guess the name had not been changed either ??? I just got off the phone with VISA and I now find out "they" have charged my card a 2nd time. I am now having to shut down my card due to unauthorized charges by them. These are facts. You make your call. (I wouldn't be calling Toy-Lex!)
  3. When I open the trunk on my '98 LS 400 I get this gasoline smell. It doesn't matter if tank is full or almost empty. It seems the longer it has been since the trunk lid has been opened the stronger the smell is. I have removed carpet, left trunk open all day in the sun, sprayed Fabreze, replaced gas cap, etc. Any suggestions?
  4. I somehow snapped the plastic latch that holds the bar you use to hold up the hood. You know, the black plastic thing that is attached to the underside of your hood where you snap your hood bar. I broke off one side of the snap. Any ideas other than Lexus Dealer?
  5. The spring on the actual door itself is broken. What can I do to fix this? It makes it hard to fill up by yourself. I did figure out how to use a book to hold the latch beside my seat up so I could go and press the front of the filler door in to swing the door out enough to get my finger in to pull it all the way open.
  6. Any good DIY's on changing the brake pads on a '01 IS300? Maybe with some pictures?
  7. How in the world do I get to the plugs in my '00 GS300? I just took off the big black plastic cover and got very confused.... Is there a picture or two showing how to do this?
  8. Nothing ejects. The only button that will give me any response is the "Load" button. Everything else is dead.
  9. I did a search as best I could since it wouldn't accept "cd" as part of my search but want clarification concerning my problem cd changer in my '01. I hit load and it is tries to load about 3 times and is saying something like "Wait disc one..." Does this mean I have a jammed CD? Thanks, Gary ps. how would you type in a search "CD Changer?"
  10. Would you use Leatherique on the leather portions? That is the product I use in my GS and LS.
  11. Thank You! I will sleep like a my dachsund tonight... :D
  12. What are those 2 black "straws" sticking out the front of the engine on my '01 IS? They are smaller in diameter than an ordinary pencil and about 4 inches long. (Okay, hold your tongue ;) ) They are just sticking out there. Opened on the end.
  13. OK, I've done a preliminary search and it looks like Woolite is good to clean the escataine portion of the IS300 seats. Can I use a product like Lexol or Leatherique over the ENTIRE seat after they have been cleaned?
  14. I found the one drain plug on the engine block. It was "easy" to get to with a 6" extension and a socket. Getting the oil filter out the top, well, that is proving a little more difficult. I have been practicing with a new filter and have about worn the paint off the edges of it sqeezing and twisting it out the top! Thanks for the encouragment!
  15. You can remove the oil filter from a '01 IS300 out from the top? So I must pass the transmission dipstick.... <_< Do I go on the front or rear or side or...of the dipstick tube?
  16. I know there is a drain plug at bottom of radiator. I was just wanting to know how many are on the engine block itself. My LS400 has two on the engine block. Of course it is a V-8.... it's just so tight on the driver's side of the engine and I can't see a thing. You should have seen me after I had driven her car up on ramps to change the oil. From the top side, I removed the oil filter and then tried to get the filter out the top. Needless to say, it wouldn't come. I had not removed any of the plastic plates on the bottom. Talk about an oily mess!
  17. I have only found one engine coolant drain plug on my Daughter's IS300. IS there only one?
  18. My Daughter just purchased a '01 IS300. I was driving it today to get tags and such and I noticed when the AC is on, I can hear a "rumble." I know the AC will make a noise when it is running but this sort of caught me off guard. How much noise does yours make?
  19. I went on and bought one from the Toyota Dealership. It's an 84 month warranty for $78.
  20. What is the optimum battery size for a '98 LS 400? 24, 24F, 35???? I'm confused :cries:
  21. I have seen the rear main seal leak oil and it drip a very small amount onto the exhaust. The smell of burning oil would come in via the vents. You would never find a leak under the car because it would leak only when hot and not very much then. VA prices $500 to replace rear seal. Crawl up under ES and look at the exhaust in the area near the engine. If you see oil discoloration there, you have found your problem. Notice, I have SEEN this in a 99 ES with 80K. It took me 2 months to find it.
