  1. DOA? what was the cause of your problem?

I got my Air Fuel ratio sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 1 from oxygensensors.com, turned out it was DOA and non refundable as I installed it to find out it was DOA, fortunately for some reason the dealer covered the replacement as "under warranty" i was so surpised I almost stoped hating them. Make sure its not an A/F ratio sensor that you need.

  2. The car is a 00' rx with 40k on it.

My Check Engine light comes on intermitinly with codes 1130 , 1150 and 0171, In searching this site I find that the manifold o2's seem to be the problem. (i cleaned the MAF wires)

Does it sound right to pay $200+ for an o2 and that both have to be replaced? I mean its quite a bit of cheddar for o2 sensors.

    can they be cleaned?

  3. thanks! Your right it, fluid level was low (not much). would you go semi metaliac or ceramic pads? also can the factory rotors be turned?

top off your brake fluid reservoir. As the pads get low, more fluid is needed to fill the calipers as they extend more to get the pads to contact the rotor. Toyota/Lexus also has very sensitive level indicators in the fluid reservoir. Even though the level may be above the min line, the level switch can still be triggered thinking the level is low.

yes you can get pads at autozone, pepboys, etc. I prefer Toyota/Lexus OEM. No dust and very quiet.

look online for them also, usually the pricing is anywhere from $40-80 per set.

    try www.lexus-parts.com, www.newlexusparts.com and www.irontoad.com

  4. so the part that goes bad is in which door? I thought it was a hidden fuse or relay thats the culprit

When I open any doors on my 00 rx the interrior lights wont come on, I looked at all the fuses and none are bad.  The dome light does work when it is swiched on ,  any ideas?

The switch (it used to be a plunger type switch on older cars at the door hinge) that controls the interior lights is inside the door panels. Evidently this switch is either sticking or went bad. My 99 RX does the same thing intermittently. This has been discussed on this forum before, but I don't remember how much it costs to replace. All I remember is that it's pricy.

BTW, this switch is also connected to the automatic relock system on the car - if you haven't opened the door within 30 seocnds, it locks again. And don't do what my son did, he unlocked the door, set the keys on the seat, and closed the door. With the switch sticking, the doors relocked.

  5. I have a 00 rx300 with 30k, I let the car sit for a month I go to start it and it clicks , I took the battery out and put it on a charger, it read 15v , So I charged it up. and the battery checked out good and held a charge. Now when I start it up I hit the gas and the car hesitates like its not getting gas or maybe a clogged fuel filter. After the car is hot it will accerate normally, any ideas whats causing the problem?
