54 yrs old, male, mechanical designer. Born and raised in west palm beach, fl. (let's VOTE on it for crying out loud). Am the family car guy and trying to survive life with my moms aging 94 es300. What a beautiful machine!!

Does anyone out there have recommendations, proceedures, etc for diagnosing slipping and o/d problems on the early (94) es300 ? I've been to the dealer, gotten the "lets replace the whole thing for $3800", have installed a used (60K miles) transmission, and still have the same no overdrive symptoms. Codes I've gotten are P1600-computer battery backup, P0720-output speed sensor, P0500-vehicle speed sonsor, P0100-airflow circuit, P0110-intake air temp. I've been working out of a Haynes manual (97 and later toyota), gotten myself pretty confused, and would like more accurate diagnostic procedures. Does anyone out there have a factory manual that could help ? Mayday...Mayday....any station come in please!! Bill
