  1. Not sure about that one. Usually it is very difficult to open the huge containers of oil, etc. Basically if y ou use T-IV fluid, then any brand such as Mobil, Valvoline, etc is fine AS LONG IT IS T-IV fluid. Cousin fills up the car whichever container is closest and on MANY occassions, the mechanics could run out of one container and just finish it off with another container (different brands).
  2. Nothing really to worry about. There shouldn't be any damage to the car. They most likely hooked up the module alarm box wrong. There is a very high possiblility that the car starter is not the best one This is what you do. 1. go to Best Buy and speak to the Manager. Tell him/her your situation. Tell them you DO NOT want them to touch your car again. You are going to go to a reputable shop to have them remove it and install a new one. Tell them to give you a full refund on everything (alarm, installation, removal of alarm). 2. Do not take no for an answer. If they don't, call up best buy corporate headquarters and complain to them. 3. Do it tomorrow since it is Saturday and most places are closed on Sundays. Good luck.
  3. Hey everyone, Been reading around the boards and there seems to be a lot of emphasis on getting only Toyota ATF transmission, differential, etc. oil/fluids ONLY. Cousin just became a head tech at a Lexus dealership here in NYC. Told me that toyota does not make any oils, fluids, etc at all. They buy everything in bulk, whatever is the cheapest they can get. i.e...the transmission or differential fluid is made by Quaker State or valvolne etc, depending who comes in with the cheapest bid. The only reason why they say toyota on it is for packaging for individual sales and paying a couple of bucks more for nice packaging. Basically, you can use any brand you want...Mobil, etc., as long the type of oil/fluids used is correct. Not sure if everyone knew this already, but I just wanted to share something new I learned today.
  4. SW03ES, I will have to contact Customer service tomorrow about this. My NAV has not been treating me well here around NYC. Is there anything specific that I should mention to them when speaking to them? Thanks.
  5. LEXNYC.......good luck at Lexus of Manhattan. That is where I brought my car and that is where I go back every weekend because they are always messing something up. I am going to be honest and tell everyone that is the worst dealership. Service Manager Richie?.....he does not know the difference between his head and his toes. They are not going to do anything for you. My best advice is to contact Lexus directly and try to tell them to send you a new version of the DVD instead. LEXNYC...shoot me a quick email over at gmail. (noosense00@gmail.com). Lets talk about what other issues you have, so we can go to the dealership together.
  6. There are actually a couple that I can go to...Brooklyn, NJ, or LI. Gave them a horrible review one time and the GM called me. He asked me why did I give such a bad review. I told him the truth. Service was horrible. He told me if I have any problems to talk to him first. I told him, I am an honest guy and I give what you deserved. Man, just thinking about this makes me laugh.
  7. Awesome! I am bringing it in tomorrow. I go to Lexus of Manhattan. I hate them! They think I am stupid, but I always have something to back me up!
  8. I went to the dealer and they told me they could not be adjusted. Any suggestions as to what I should say to them? Also, if I get them adjusted, would that mess up the auto-leveling function?
  9. The link to the photo does not work anymore and I am curious to see what his car looks like. Does anyone have a pic? If you can post it, that would be awesome
  10. Hey everyone. I am new to the board. Mond'z can you post a pic of your car again? I am extremely interested in what the side steps look like in your color since I have the same car. Thanks.
  11. ok. I think we came to a conclusion that the 04 RX330 AWD handles well in snow on level ground. The question is, how well does it handle on a "slight" or "steep" incline when the road is covered with snow? Haven't really had enough snow here in NYC, so please someone let me know as I am dying of curiosity as to how well it handles on an incline.
  12. WWest, thanks for the explanation above. Now I understand.
  13. Really stupid question. If i put a regular dvd in there will it work? Will i be able to watch a movie? Probably not ←
  14. ok. Here we go. After doing some extensive research this is what I found and I hope this answers the question for everyone. "AWD system splits power 50% front, 50% rear under normal circumstances, shifts power as needed to wheels with the most traction. System has no center differential and relies on traction- and stability-controls to shift power to wheels not spinning. " According to many sites, the AWD is fixed 50/50 unlike many other SUVs. So basically this is neither front or rear bias. ← ←
  15. Please ignore what I just said in the post above. Was reading the other post and now I understand. it is front bias. ←
