  1. i just went through that - i opted to do the latter since I had no other service issues and it was much easier/shorter time wise
  2. duh.... that's obvious, I was not asking about oil change 101. The issue was if there was a trick to removing the filter and not creating a mess or if the entire plate had to be removed.
  3. I thought the plate would have to come off, but at first glance was not sure how easy/what to take off
  4. ok - trying to save a few coins and change the oil myself. The question comes in how to remove the oil filter without creating a mess. My first glance is it is hard to get my hands on, and any oil leakage will spill all over the metal pan/shield underneath it. Also any idea of the size of the oil drain bolt? Thanks, Bob
