  1. Hello,

Bank one sensor replacement got the P1331 code removed off the diagnostics........ of my 99 RX 300 and now the check engine light has returned with the P0446 code.  Are there any SIMPLE inexpensive things I can do to possibly address this code and get this pesky light off.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gas Cap is on tight and the gasket has been replaced. I know about the techincal bullet on that code but my vehicle is over 100000 miles do you think Lexus Dealers give me a freebie if anyone knows how to "get er done" please share.

  3. If the stock tire is 225/70 replaced with 235/70:

Speedometer reading will be 1.9% too slow

With speedometer reading 60 mph, you're actually travelling 61.2 mph.

This does not include any built-in error factoring in the speedo from Lexus.

But you also get the benefit of odometer reading < actual distance traveled, which means less depreciation of car resell value and more warranty time.

255 75 R16 I love them and they fill the fender well perfect.

  5. RX in NC has researched and knows what you are going thru I found this part on ebay cheaper email this guy with your part # and request.  PNuclo@aol.com  this is a good contact.

Geno, thanks for the info...who much did you spend for it and did you install it yourself, or have a mechanic install it?

I had a mechanic do it only because it was due an oil change. You can do it if you desire. but most general mechanics can do it in no time with little charge if you are having other services done.

  6. Hello,

I need the genuine Lexus or Toyota part # for the Upstream Bank One and Bank two sensors. Can someone provide a link to these part numbers or provide the part number for this item. Are Oxygen Sensors interchangeable between Toyota and Lexus vehicles? I have a 1999 RX 300 and was just wandering which Toyota Vehicle parts would be compatible.

    Thanks

  7. Hello,

I need a little information on this sensor. I know there is two oxygen sensors before the Catalytic Converter. I think I have located both the sensors but the one that is bad is called the Bank 1. Would this be the one that I can see at the front of the manifold from underneath the hood or the one underneath the vehicle but before the Catalytic Converter. Any help ont the location would be greatly appreciated. These sensors are expensive and I do not want to change the wrong one ( I think they are interchangeable)

    Thanks

  8. Hello,

I have a 1999 RX 300 and just yesterday my "BRAKE" light came on and stayed on. The emergency brake is released properly the brake fluid is full (maybe a bit too much) the "Brake" light will go off if I unhook the sensor at the brake fluid cannister. It comes back on when I plug it back in. I am so stressed... does anybody know what the problem could be?

    Thanks

  9. I believe that your P1133 trouble code is associated with your Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor (also called the Bank 1 Sensor).  This particular sensor is located on the back side of your exhaust manifold.  I'm not familiar with your P0446 trouble code, but perhaps someone else on this forum is and will step up to the plate here.

It sounds as if you've been cleaning the Mass Air Flow Sensor, which is located on the back of the air filter housing.  I don't think that approach is going to permanently turn off your "check engine" light associated with a P1133 trouble code.

You're probably going to have to replace your Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor  -  I don't know that you can successfully clean it the way you can clean a Mass Air Flow Sensor.  Go to www.oxygensensors.com for more information and to obtain parts for considerably less than you'll have to pay a Lexus parts department.  Your local NAPA store can also order the appropriate oxygen sensors for your vehicle (most of them will be made by Bosch).

There were some very good threads on this RX forum back in August and September in reference to oxygen sensor problems on the RX series.  If you haven't seen them, it would be worth your time to go back and review them.  At 110,000 miles on your vehicle, you are well past the typical mileage when these multiple sensors begin to fail and must be dealt with.  Good luck to you.

Thank You so much for your reply I will look back at previous discussions.

I see you are from NC also.

    Have a nice Day

  10. Hello I am new on this forum but I have been reading and searching on it for sometime. I have a 1999 Lexux RX 300 and a few months ago my check engine light came on. I searched the forum and followed instructions to get it off. The main code on this problem is P1133 Fuel/Air metering I also have a P0446 code.

I have performed the following : reset the system, removed the EFI #13 fuse, cleaned the sensor that goes into the air filter cannister and replaced the air filter, replaced the gasket on my gas cap, and the damn thing is still on. It will go off after re-setting the 13 fuse or taking the bat cable off but it will always come back on in a hundred miles or so.

Nothing seems to be wrong with my vehicle other than that damn light and now just yesterday my "BRAKE" light came on and stayed on. The emergency brake is released properly the brake fluid is full (maybe a bit too much) the "Brake" light will go off if I unhook the sensor at the brake fluid cannister. It comes back on when I plug it back in. I am so stressed.....at these lights with nothing seemingly wrong with the running of the vehicle. The truck as 110,000 miles and runs great, the lights just bug the hell out of me and I do not feel like getting "screwed" at some Lexus Dealership. I found a bulletin on the P1133 Code http://www.clublexus.com/index.php/article/view/1944/1/115 and also

    http://www.clublexus.com/index.php/article...view/267/1/115/ for code P0446

but my vehicle is not under warranty. Can someone please help me? I like things to be right and at the rate my lights keep coming on my dash will soon look like a christmas tree.
